New Armor Mesh Problem

I have recently made a new armor mesh using blender, and it works perfectly with Nifscope. But when i try to use it with the CS or actual Oblivion, pieces don't show how they should. Any help or advice will be taken in with gratitude. Thanks :)

I think there's some things you must check first. First check if your armor was exported from blender correctly. The root node (NiNode) must be only one and must be named SceneRoot. Sometimes when exporting from blender the NiNode has another NiNode inside with the name of SceneRoot.00 If that's the reason, then you have to import the armor back to blender, delete the skeleton, add new skeleton from the game choosing "Import Skeleton only + Parent to selected armature", then export it again with the new skeleton.

 

Again another thing is to check the NiTexturingProperty.

Thanks, but nothing you said seems to have worked. If anybody wants, i could post up the actual Nif file for them to have a try themselves? If so, and if you manage to get it working, please do not upload it without permission :)

That's really sad...Except from the nif, maybe it's the nif path in construction set wrong and the game is unable to read the file.

 

Anyway, sorry for giving bad instructions. :unsure:

 

If I was able to examine the nif and finding the problem, I could give you the right steps to follow..

All good man, nothing wrong happened by following your steps. Just didn't really help, but i think it might just be a problem with the bones. I'm trying to fix it right now, and if i can't, i could send you the files. What I'm doing now is exporting all the pieces seperately, and it seems to be working alright so far for most bits.

Alright then, it's a fair deal. I'm not so experienced at armors but I made some for skeletons, humans and xivilai, that's why I try to give some help.

 

Anyway, I will be here to help if your brains got burned up :biggrin:

send it here [email protected] and ill send it back . sounds like fun I have this problem solved err I think and this would be a great opertuneity to make sure.

i cant realy post the solution here for it is involved many many steps. I can tell you 9 times out of 10 that the OLD scenn root wont cut it and infact give you an ivisable mesh.
