Considering 3D gaming glasses

Recommended Posts

It's been suggested to me that I should give 3D gaming a try so I'm wondering if it's worth it? My primary monitor is the Acer Predator 27" https://www.pccasegear.com/products/31600 , I know it's up to the job. After being forced to build a new gaming rig when my last one suddenly died I'm now using the 980 ti Hydro, so I know I've got everything in place except the glasses.

Are the Nvidia glasses worth it? http://www.newegg.com/global/au/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814998061

I'm also doing a lot of work in 3DS Max 2012 and 3DCoat and I'm wondering if the 3D effect will have any impact with those programs?

Not really an answer for your question but I would like to share my experience on using 3D.

I have gaming build for playing 1080p 3D games and watching 1080p 3D movies. I tried 3D. I like it, but for long term use? Not really good for my eyes. I get nausea and eye pain if I use 3D for more than 2 hrs. I stopped using it.
