Kutt
I'm building a new enthusiast gaming computer this year containing a Core i7 7770K Kaby Lake, 16GB DDR4 2xxxMHz RAM, and two-way SLI GeForce GTX 1080 8GB graphics cards. Is this enough to run Fallout 4 at ultra settings with max AA/AF on 1920x1080 resolution and get a steady 60fps? My current computer, using a dual SLI GTX 680 2GB is very slow and sluggish at max settings, so I have to play it on high to compensate.
YeOldeSensenmann
Yes. Get an "enthusiast" monitor as well because SLI 1080s are overkill for 1080p, no matter the game.

YeOldeSensenmann
Future proofing?I told myself the same. Then I watched a friend play on a UHD Gsync monitor and had to get one immediately. Totally worth it. ;)

kingofthesword
I thought sli didn't work or wasn't supported for the gtx 1080? Edited May 27, 2016 by kingofthesword
jones177
I am waiting for the GTX 1080 as well. But I will settle for the i7 6700k for a processor. The new i7s are more powerful than I thought. My Son is using one of my 4k monitors with a 980 & a i7 6700. He is playing DAI at 4k. Something I could not do with my old i7 2600k & a 980. One GTX 1080 can do 4k with this game. I do it with a single 980 ti. If you use ENB at 4k you would need 2. Later
Kutt
Each generation of CPU is only about 5% faster than the previous. CPU's have gone in the direction of energy efficiency rather than speed and computing power. But I would like to see a new CPU that has a significant performance increase over it's predecessor, like the Core 2 Quad to the Core i7, for example. SharraShimada
Short answer: Yes, its enough power. But you may disable SLI for FO4, because there are always problems with bethesda-games. And one 1080 should be more then powerful enough to handle HD
