Hello.

My FNV doesn't work any more for the reasons specified in this thread: http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/426360-oh-my-gawd-i-need-help/page__p__3534464__fromsearch__1#entry3534464

So I would like to re-install it. But however, I have Dead Money and Honest Hearts (witch I couldn't yet play because of the problem) and I would really like to keep them.

so how can I de-install it without destroying those two DLCs, and how can I re-install it, so it will still work ?

I really need help with this please.

Regards,

Tom./

If your running the steam version, right click NV icon in the library list and backup local game files, then re install from that. If your running the non steam disk version, it can be a problem.

Or if you don't want to trust that the Steam backup will work, (or that it won't make the problem persist) I'd say go into your Fallout new vegas\data folder and copy the DLC files to another location (Say 'C:\Fallout\backups' or something similar) from the looks of things on my comp, there will be a DLC.esm, a DLC.NAM, and two DLC.BSAs, for each DLC, copy those any you're good to go. Although, I don't believe that you can just download the base game if you've already purchased the DLCs, but if you have the original disk (and didn't buy it via digital download through Steam) then that can speed you up, though you would need to go ahead and download the patches via steam (unless someone knows how to get them without going through that PITA program.)

As for the original problem, I encountered the same issue a few days ago myself, and I ended up finding a mod that fixed it, http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=42729 install that mod, and place the .esps where you're told to, and that might help you out.

Good luck, and happy (virtual) trails!
