Country
Recently, I've installed version 1.4.0.518 of the G.E.C.K. and it does not seem to want to cooperate. My steam version of New Vegas is 1.4.0.525. The steam folder is in C:/games/steam/ The program will fail to launch with the error "Garden of Eden Creation Kit has stopped working" I'm not certain what I am doing wrong. Advice? WastelandAssassin
it is known that the new update broke the GECK, so you need to get the newest version of it (1.4) can't find the link i used to download it, as the download from Bethesda is for the first release, so just google it, and you should find plenty of links
Country
Is version 1.4 different from version 1.4.0.518?
WastelandAssassin
not the version of the game, the version of the GECKyou can't download the versions of the game from Bethsoft  you need to update your GECK, as the latest update of the game doesn't work with earlier versions of the GECK
Country
Sorry, I suppose I need to be more specific. I have version 1.4.0.518 of the G.E.C.K. and version 1.4.0.525 of the game. Are these not the most recent versions of both? I do not believe this to be the cause of my issue. There must be another explanation for why the program will not execute properly. Edited September 2, 2011 by Country
prandiningrat
This probably not the answer you looking for but you can try to turn off the dep for that application, Its Data execution Prevention In the performance tab,add this application as exclusion.. Country
I placed G.E.C.K. as an exception, restarted, and still encountered exactly the same error. Perhaps it's just not meant to be. I'll just go back to modding games with tools that work for me. Edited September 2, 2011 by Country

If so, the Geck files need to go in C:/games/steam/<rest of path to fallout new vegas>/data

Country
The error was fixed by uninstalling Fallout New Vegas by deleting local content from within Steam, then re-installing the game. From this, I have to conclude that there was a registry conflict that wasn't allowing the G.E.C.K. to see the game properly.Recently, I've installed version 1.4.0.518 of the G.E.C.K. and it does not seem to want to cooperate. If so, the Geck files need to go in C:/games/steam/<rest of path to fallout new vegas>/dataShould this have been the problem, the G.E.C.K. would have failed on launch due to being unable to locate libvorbis.dll, which is specifically stated in the error message. As covered above, G.E.C.K. must be in the same folder as FalloutNV.exe, not the data folder. Edited September 2, 2011 by Country
