Jumonji
Yes, it's difficult to create new costumes. So which ones to guys create first? They create the sexy ones. Guys like to look at sexy girls. Gee. Whoever woulda guessed? That's worth a phd dissertation, I bet. Hmm. Why do guys like to look at sexy women? Of course, the more interesting topic would be - why does it bother some people that guys like to look at sexy girls? Now there's a good topic. -Jumonji
dangle
Of course, the more interesting topic would be - why does it bother some people that guys like to look at sexy girls? Now there's a good topic.-Jumonji Well, it looks like that statement was put down specially for the benefit of one of two people, so i will answer for both: i'd answer that for Swedish, but she said she'd bring Umbra if i said she was on the rag. j/k. I wont speak for her any more than to say that i don't think it is just the 'looking at' that is bothering her (she may or may not have a problem with that, i don't know), but the fact that they are being made into sex slaves. She said it is insulting. But for myself; I don't have a problem with it, i also dont have a problem with girls looking at sexy guys (i love being admired j/k). Basically my stance is the same as (my take on) Swedish's. The looking at wasn't the problem To continue on now would require everyone's understanding that i am completely dropping the current topic to follow on with yours, which i am happy enough to do: The key word in the case would be 'looking'. Looking is fine. I guess some people have problems because they are envious or jealous of the 'better' specimen getting more attention.
Jumonji
I'm quoting the original post so that we don't forget the attitude that started this thread: Please tell me it isn't just me. But, isn't it a little insulting the way every female character in the game is being turned into some kind of perverted sexy slave? Or "companion" as people call them.. I mean, I've seen thousands of mods with the sole purpose of giving them women or revealing armor, or even just making other characters sexy and appear in thongs. It's a little insulting the way it seems that, while males are perfectly capable in war and wearing full-body armor, females immediately have to be a love interest with big boobs. Why can't people just play the game without unloading hormones on all the females within it? Female characters in oblivion seem to have their dignity stripped away. D:> And how much protection can you REALLY get in a thong?! Honestly! I don't think they made thongs back then!! Or fishnets! I mean, really, I don't mind those clothes in real life, but it's a video game, guys.. Not a porn mag. :/ If you feel that I'm being unreasonable, please tell me. I just want to know if anyone agrees. And please don't check me off as a chick on her period, 'cause the first one to say it gets stabbed in the mouth. In real life. And I'm not kidding. I'll come over there and bring Umbra with me, and I won't be wearing any boob-friendly armor, either. ;/ Now - can someone tell me where I can find this perverted slave companion? I'd like to try her out! I guess the comment that pixxed me off was the Or "companion" as people call them.. because I created one of these companions, and Rhianna is definitely not a perverted slave. Of all the companions I studied when figuring out how to build Rhianna, only one was x-rated (as I defined before.) Just where are these thousands of perverted mods she's talking about? I put in hundreds of hours of work to create Rhianna (and I'm not done yet) so I'm a bit sensitive to having my work called "perversion" just because someone is a bit uptight about nudity in the middle ages. Especially since I released Rhianna with only stock graphics! (I happen to play with Growlf's body mod, but that not how she was released.) dangle
i happen to think that you deserve some commendations on that one. You mod looks cool, you've stated why she's practical; and you have put more points into saving her hide rather than showing it off :) i'd be miffed too if something i had put so much time (and pride) into was getting bagged, there's no basis for that. I would say rest assured, judging from the screens, there is nothing perverted about your mod. I'd say her email was pointed more at the people who create 'companions' rather than companions. btw, how hard is it to make one? (i'm seriously asking, i've never made one before)
Jumonji
Thanks, Dangle. :) It's easy to create a simple companion who just follows you around and fights with you. But every little additional behavior is more coding, and sometimes the littlest things can take weeks to figure out. Between the creativity of deciding what kinds of behavior to give her so she hasher own personality, and figuring out the twisted way the Oblivion software scripts have to be written to get her to do what you want, it can be a full-time job. But, as I've said elsewhere - it's a labor of love. :) Once you get beyond a certain level of complexity and you start seeing her act in interesting ways that you didn't expect, you're hooked. -Jumonji
GenghisKhanIT
Hello ! Today, for the first time, I took a look to Image Share section, just to view some nice Oblivion sightseeing or fighting scenes, but I was little-bored / very-bored / irritated when I saw that 90% of the images are related to women in sexy clothing and poses. I do not have anything against them, but I think it was what meatball was meaning in her first post. Is it an RPG or an adult game ? Just looking at Image Share, I would say the 2nd one. I closed the I.S. and I think I will not check it any more, since I already collect Penthouse ! :D (J/K)
Jumonji
I agree that it's annoying to try and find non-girlie images amidst all the clutter. Maybe the Dark One could segregate images by category, the way he does mods? Then you could search on what you're looking for. For mods, you can definitely focus your search on the specific areas like weapons or houses or whatever, and avoid companions completely. -Jumonji

It's most of the time 4 to 1 or more. After putting in images I thought were cool and seeing other images by people that were not sex oriented and looking that they got 20 views next to a naked one with 300 views it almost makes you want to create those sexy pics so that you will get those views. It becomes addicting after a while and it makes you feel good to have so many people looking at your images. I personally prefer the fighting ones to the sexy pics but after you spend all this time trying to set up a shot and then you put it in and no one seems to care much it makes you start thinking of the next "sexy shot you can come up with. It was a good idea when it started, but now it's really not too far from pixel porn. The use of the feature is all but removed with all those meaningless shots of this woman or that woman with exnems body and such and such armor. I could maybe see it if people were showing off their own clothing or body mods, but it isn't, even the faces (what you can see) don't speak much about variety or purpose.
