dangle
I am a massive fan of Quarny's Quest Award Leveller, but having ALL of the best items (to me) seems a little to make things a bit too easy. My thought was to replace the zero weight item with a shrine that costs money and maybe a welkynd stone or something to activate; and/or a fight with a random champion might be involved This would, in effect, make it a quest to go out into the wilderness and earn your new goodies. Just gives a sense of accomplishment rather than to just have the best of everything as soon as you possibly can. Any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated. Sypron
Perhaps you get a different "Challenge" for upgrading each item that is based of how you got it in the first place. For instance, that sword you receive from the quest at odill farm. At the farm you have to kill several goblins and keep 2 NPC's alive to get the sword. To upgrade it, the same event should be simulated where you keep 2 NPC's alive versing goblins. Only this time they're all lvl 30 (or whatever) and you get multiple attempts. If it is a magic based item (like spelldrinker) fight a levelled wraith; if it is a weapon, fight a levelled zombie, or something along those lines. I dismissed that idea before too long because some items would be a mixed bag (an item with shield and fortify magicka would focus on both) and it would not suit all players. My thoughts were to leave it simple as it would suit a broader range of players and be easier to mod (the latter point being my guiding beacon on the matter). But your point (while being well out of my very much limited league in the modding arena) does sound much more challenging than fighting a single advesary, which most people find easy. the official addon items would be tricky. just waltz on in and grab those suckers :)
anthropg
I like the idea of having a challenge to make items get upgraded. What I would recommend as a starting point is a challenge for each ten levels or so of items. So beating the level 30 challenge would let your leveled items be upgraded as high as to level 30 (assuming that the character is a high enough level)
dangle
cheers, i was thinking something like that. i actually have put a lot of thought into this and your suggestion is actually pretty close to what i had in mind. I realise my initial post was a bit vague, i had put a lot of thought into it, i just wanted a little feedback. I am going to attempt to create this mod myself, a few things will hinder me, (one of which being my broken computer) but i think i can do most/all of it myself. thanks for the feedback, i just wanted to get some idea of how the populace would feel about my ideas. i shall report back with my findings and progress as i make some :)
