CptJoker71
I reinstalled Oblivion recently and got through the enormous task of repatching and applying all the mods I used to have (months ago) and have been playing fine ever since - except for one thing: whenever I attack someone in Sneak mode there's a slight delay before the attack registers, making the whole thing out of sync with the attack animation. At the risk of sounding foolish, is this just part of the stock game? It might be so long since I tried that I've just forgotten... :) I removed all the mods and it still was happening, but I still feel it might be a residual effect caused by some mod I tried and discarded - or possibly am still using. I use a whole bunch (including OOO, Reneer's Guard Overhaul, Attack and Hide, Duke Patrick's Combat etc... about 50 in all) and switching them all on and off is quite a task, so I'm here looking for advice! Does anyone recognise this as behaviour from a specific mod? Or have I truly forgotten the stock game mechanics already? :P Help please!
TheTerminator2004
Do you mean a slight delay before the message pops up saying you got a sneak attack, or before the person dies/is injured from the attack?
CptJoker71
The delay is before the person is injured - and it's a really obvious delay, very out of place. When I make a killing blow the angle of the death slump (if you want to call it that) is completely inconsistent with the direction of the swing, like there's no connection between the two. It's like: *swing left* pause, count to 2 *NPC gets hit, falls to the right* And the direction of the hit is always the same one. Maybe my sneaking slash animation got changed? TheTerminator2004
Hmmm... what mods do you have loaded? Try getting obmm and running the conflict detector, and see if there's any serious conflicts going on, that might have something to do with it.
