Change Chat to one with Ignore Feature

You are able to ignore private messages in chat, but that doesn't mean that you aren't a target. Trolls come in ALL the time. Most times they are dealt with somewhat promptly, but other times there are hours before another moderator will be in chat, leaving us to either leaving or trying our hardest to ignore it. As anyone knows, that is not always going to happen. Sometimes others get baited into it, and in an attempt to calm things or dissuade them from replying you get sucked into it in one way or another, and your day is ruined.

 

Sometimes you have people from the Nexus who enjoy bugging you in chat. Sometimes you are just pissed at someone and it'd be better to not listen to them. Well there hasn't really been anything you could do about it. But here is one thing that you can do, you can vote to have a new chat system which features an ignore option so that we do not have to be at the mercy of peripheral reading when simply trying to ignore it in your face. Trolls won't be a bother anymore, people you're mad at will have a good break from being read so that you may calm down, no one can bug you any further than you allow them to.

 

As great as this place is, it gets ruined by people we can't get away from. With over two million users it's no wonder. Some are bound to have nothing better to do than curse everyone out and say anything shocking to get a reaction when they see no mods are around. And because it's over two million users, some is an unfortunately small adjective to use for the situation.

 

This poll is meaningless and changes nothing if people don't vote. So if you are already reading this, please don't just click away. Cast your vote so the public view is known, otherwise there would be no reason for Dark0ne to change this.

I am actually surprised that this feature hasn't been in place already. I would welcome it in the chat.

I'd like a feature like that but would prefer the option NOT carry on to the next session... its simple enough to block a spammer or troll once a session

I do think I talked with our dear saviour The Vampire Dante on this subject. And if I understand correctly there is not any way to improve the IRC chat any further, and I'm not sure about the possibilty of changing things in forums such as this, meaning that the whole concept is solid and unchangable. But then again I am not the expert in this matters and merely relay on my thoughts on a rather short conversation with one.

 

But if it is possible, it would be an absolutely marvelous thing to happen really.

This is more so a vote to CHANGE from the chat we have now, to one with an ignore

I tire of this, for the last time. There is no way to change the chat, it is as it is and it cannot be changed,

 

I can however, effect a change in your access, then the ignore use will become redundant and meaningless.
