ginnixx
Hey there guys, I'm Ginnixx. Nice to meet you! :) So, it seems to me that learning to script is mostly about getting in there, playing with existing scripts, and fumbling around the CS wiki. I will continue to do all these things. However, I'm asking for some help with creating a specific mod, if anybody wouldn't mind "mentoring" me in bits and pieces. I want to create a mod that alters the number of skills needed to level up, say like, 15 major skills as opposed to 10. I realize it's not quite "simple as that," but maybe it is. So while I'm learning scripting in general, could anybody give me some information directly related to this type of mod? I'm NOT asking anybody to create this mod for me. I want to learn to do it on my own. LEARNING = AWESOME. Thanks!
razorpony
Fortunately what you want to do is very simple. First open the CS, select Oblivion.esm and let it load. Once it's done, click 'Gameplay' at the top of the screen, then click 'Settings'. This will open up a menu of in game variables. Scroll down to the entry iLevelUpSkillCount and highlight it. In the right hand box you'll see a 10, change it to 15. Click ok. Now click 'File' and 'Save'. Pick a name for your mod. Congratulations, YOU IZ A MODDER NAO! Go forth and conquer, young padiwan. ginnixx
Haha! I totally forgot about those variables. I used to do minor mods before, but it's been a while -- I forgot to even look there. xD Thank you! I IZ A MODDER NAO! GX.
