metricjester
I am looking for a jester's motley outfit. I've been trying to re-hack http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=264 this Jester Hat from Morrowind, but darn it if I just can't figure it out. I have absolutely zero experience with any sort of modeling or anything, and converting just isn't working for me. I know there's been LOTS of posts for this but the answer's always the same "Search TESNexus.com" well guess what, no matter what I search I can't even find a hat much less The Full Motley. So I'm going to try to make it myself. Edited September 10, 2011 by metricjester
metricjester
Ok so I've spent about 3 hours trying to select a vertex in Blender, and it doesn't work. I don't want to hear cries of "LMB LMB!" Just click and it'll work, well no it doesn't. I'm just not able to make This mod, no matter how hard or soft I click that stupid left mouse button, it just doesn't want to select a single vertex. I know I'm clicking it, I can feel it and hear it, and it works everywhere else. Maybe if I had help with the modelling I could actually texture and build my own mod. I don't think this is an unreasonable request. I mean c'mon I've got graphic design experience, and I'm no stranger to 3d modelling, having played around in Google SketchUp, anim8or and the dreaded 3d constructor kit. I've even built levels for Unreal Tournament. Blender just blows my mind. It's unusable. How do people use this thing everyday
Squizzo
RMB is used to select verts in Blender, either that or press B followed by LMB to lasso select or B twice followed by LMB to area select.
metricjester
Just today I got it working. I sat down at the computer, started up blender, deselected all on the basic cube, hit b, selected an area and deleted the vertices. At last it worked, now to see if I can make a simple hat, and a ball on a stick.
metricjester
Ok, so work in progress report: I have modelled the Marotte in Blender. It's a wooden ball on a stick, but the textures are not working. Thing looks ugly, and using NifSkope is kind of like cutting yourself to see if you still bleed. It hurt the first time, don't do it anymore. I have uploaded my working files to https://sites.google.com/site/chrispeacockcloud/downloads If you want to keep track of my progress, or help me out that's where you'll find it right now. The Shirt, Pants, and hat are still to be designed, but the whole thing is showing promise, because I'm thinking of just re-texturing some vanilla clothes instead of modelling that kermit collar. I will have something more concrete later in the week, and I will be sure to upload replacement blender files every night just to keep the work files up to date.
