Do mods work on the steam copy of fallout new vegas

omg wow i am getting the game i download it to see if i like it if i do i buy it i just want to know if i get the steam copy will the mods work or do i need a physical copy like come on cut me some slack Edited by Agioritis

downloading to see if you like it or not, you DID pirate the game and it IS illegal. I'm glad you're buying it and all, but seriously, do not post up a confession to a real and serious crime, that's like telling a news paper you committed the murder before your trial was over. If you do it keep it shhh.

 

FYI, yes mods do work better with the real game, why? because the source code is the original and not the altered, which some mods possibly depend on. Steam copy is fine.

 

EDIT: in your defense, I do hope the mods go easy on you, as there is no demo for fallout NV and I can see how if you dont know anyone who has it you might be skeptical of buying it. ;)

It really does not matter, mods will work either way.

If you have Win 7 or Vista and plan on using mods, disable UAC or avoid installing the game/steam to C:\Program Files.

Actually I found New Vegas extremely unstable when using mods. I had a CTD every 20 min. That's why I prefer FO3. Also, ANY kind of piracy is still a crime, even if you download it just to try it out.

how do i avoid installing the game/steam to C:\Program Files. when using steam ?? i am new to moding
