Keirgarth
The steam version is notorious for not allowing mods to work properly at times. You may have to uninstall both Oblivion and steam and install both to a location outside of the program files path. You may also need to run a program that changes the dates of your bsa's to one that the mods will work with. I have not personally had to do this as I don't have that version, but after reading so many other posts with issues from the steam install it is a fair bet you will have the same issues. I am sure one of the more savvy readers know where to find information on what needs to be done to get the steam version to handle mods right. MShoap13
How to Move Steam This will prevent Windows UAC from screwing with modding Oblivion. BBen's Oblivion Reinstall Procedure This step is necessary to get rid of the old registry entries which will point utilities like Wrye Bash or OBMM to the wrong location. File Date Changer Roll the "last modified" dates on all of the *.bsa archives that come in your vanilla Oblivion install (with all of the DLC) back to sometime around 06 or so. You can go further just to be sure. Without doing this step, Archive Redirection, a form of archive invalidation, accessible through Wrye Bash or OBMM, will not work properly. Without Archive invalidation, texture replacers and possiby animation replacers and meshes will not be used over the vanilla textures/anims/meshes from the archives mentioned earlier. BigMacDk
Hey again. I will try to follow your procedure for steam and game relocation(install) and take it from there. It looks fairly easy from what I can pick up of the steam support you kindly linked. Once that is completed, will try to re-date the files back to 2005 I suppose. Though I dont completely understand the need for this, in some way I can understand that the "new" oblivion files can make a mess of things that are dated back (MOD's) Waiting for DL to finish then get to work on it. Thanks again for the help, regards, BMD
BigMacDk
Okies, Done with reinstall and moved my steam lib. to a less protected place. So far so good, and installed an XP MOD, oblivion xp mod v415 just to test if I had the general workings down, and it all seemed peacy. Then back to OOO, and I am quite sure I unpacked it and moved the right files and then activated it with wrye, updated NPC levels asrequired. I wanted to do the time stamp changes aswell, but I simply cant understand how. I found a post http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/449239-oblivion-mods-faq/here that explains a lot of things, but I cant for the life of me find out how to use Archive Invalidation in wrye. So I went ahead and tryied testing the 1.3 OOO with the xp mod just to see if I sorted out my original problem where it looks like im not getting any xp at all from anything, unfortunatlymy problem consists, and while using the xp mod with out running ooo, everything works fine. I did not upgrade ooo from 1.3 to 1.33 this time, but I doubt this is what is causing the problem. I would like to fix the Archive Invalidation but just cant find out how to do it. Any advice or a small list of how with wrye, would be appriciated, as the one from the official link doesnot make any sense to me, I cant find the tabs/buttons they mention. Now for some reason I dont get, since I do have OBMM installed, when I launch oblivion+OBMM with the button in the lower left corner of Wrye bash prog, I get exp :( what a mess o.O right back to trying stuff + upgrading ooo to 1.33 version Cheers, BMD Edited September 9, 2011 by BigMacDk

BigMacDk
After some bashing and smashing, I think I managed to figure out how some of the things work. The time stamp problem gets sorted by the OBMM by default, at least that is what it looks like, and should be sorted now that I installed ooo version 1.32 final via OBMM with the make mod option, took some timebut managed. Will run some testing now to see if everything is dandy. Cheers, BMD
