Problem With Graphics

I've installed Oblivion in my notebook, that is Inspiron 15R, core I5, video AMD Radeon 512mb, 4gb RAM. However, when instalation was complete and the auto adjust of graphics was done, show a message saying that the video wasn't detected and the setting fixed in Medium Configuration. So in the option menu, in "adapter", is showing only "intel HD Graphics", but not AMD Radeon. Thereby FPS is slow even in Medium settings. Someone know how i must to do to the game recognize the video board? Only to know, my system is Windows 7 home basic 64 bits.

I've played the game but i guess that was slow to notebook configuration. My desktop that is a Pentium 4 3.0 runs with better FPS than notebook.

All that means is your graphics board is not in Oblivion's list of boards from 2006. That list has never been updated. Luckily, they allowed for this in the game setup.

Try setting the screen resolution to the native resolution of the laptop screen - that usually gives the best result. Setting it either higher or lower than the native resolution means the Graphics processor must do a conversion that can slow some things down.

Note: the native resolution is that set of numbers in the specifications like 1200x1650 or 600x800. Be sure to pay attention to wide screen vs standard resolutions. Using a wide screen resolution on a standard screen will squeeze the picture. using a standard on a wide will either leave black bars on either side or stretch the picture to fit.

Have somebody another way to make Oblivion recognize the video board? I've already reinstalled the driver, reinstalled the game, deactivated the Intel HD Graphics, to see if the game "forces" recognize the AMD Radeon, but nothing worked. Must have a way to make the game recognize this!

Detail that driver of the AMD Radeon is Catalyst that when some application is running, the driver recognize it and show a option to select how to process this application, if "high performance" or "energy saving". With Oblivion running is not different, showing that the Radeon adapter recognize the game, but the game don't see the video board.
