Missing game save

OK, here's the deal. I have oblivion with SI, no mads or patches. Currenty i have two characters and decided to start another new game. My main character was level 18. The new character Played fine, saved my game and shut down the computer. I went to play again the next day and my level 18 character is gone, I only have a game save at level 11 and 10. The other characters seem to all be there.

How many character/games can you have? I went into the save files and still cannot find the games.

Any suggestions or do i just start from here?

Well, at one point I had at least 50, so I doubt there's a limit to the number of saves you can have. Are you using any mods? If you are, it's quite possible (even likely) that one of them could be causing the problem. Finally, if you go to your Oblivion directory (usually C:/Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Oblivion), and look for a file called Programflow.txt, that might help with the problem. (If you can't find it, try going to the Oblivion launcher, clicking 'Technical Support', and then the 'Warnings' tab.) If there are any errors in that file, then post them here, they may have something to do with it.

I do not have or use any mods. I was unable to locate the file you were talking about, but did find the warning tab. When i clicked the tab the feild was empty. it could not find the programflow.txt. It then asks if i wanted to create one.

Should i create one?

Thanks for the reply

No, if it can't find it, that means the game hasn't HAD any errors yet...

I honestly don't know what the problem is... unless... you DO have the latest patch for SI, don't you? Because there is a known bug with the unpatched version which somehow stops you being able to play after a certain amount of time, or something... I'm not sure of the details, because I don't use SI, but that might be worth looking into.
