Does anybody know if there is a way to fix aspect ratio on a 4:3 display? When playing Oblivion on a 1280x1024 (not widescreen) monitor it looks vertically stretched.

Thanks

Read your monitor's manual and find the native resolution. Set Oblivion to that.

Thanks for your reply, but I should have mentioned that I wanted to play on two different machines - one has a Sapphire HD (works fine) and the other one has an integrated intel card that works with lower resolutions (e.g. 800x600, albeit stretched) but stutters with higher ones. My monitor's native resolution is 1280x1024 so I can't use this resolution on the second pc, hence the ratio problem. Any ideas?

Your 1280x1024 is a 5:4 display, and if as you say your other monitor is 4:3, then set it to 1024x768 or 1152x864.

I thought it was 4:3, but then that would have worked with 800x600. You're right, it's 5:4... unfortunately below 1024x768 there is no 5:4 compatible resolution available... Edited by valus_22

No, there is not, and it will always be distorted at 4:3 resolutions. You really are pushing it anyway, playing Oblivion on an integrated graphic chip. It really won't cut it.

Actually unlike other integrated cards, this one (i5 2500 sandy bridge gfx) is good enough for me, I just wish there was a lower resolution for 5:4. Guess I'll have to buy a widescreen monitor for this pc then.

(anyway +kudos to your for your help)
