Requesting fully modded Oblivion

There is actually no such thing as a fully modded game as the Nexus alone has 23,859 mods to choose from. (as of when this was written) Very few people have the same mod list beyond a few of the more popular mods. Plus many mods have variations in the mod that you decide on when you install them.

Start by getting the vanilla Oblivion game working - Install the game and start - Make a save. Now install the Shivering Isles part, again, start and make a save. The GOTY version has the latest patch built into the Shivering Isles part so you are now fully patched and have a working game. This would be a good time to install OBSE (oblivion Script Extender) this is not a mod, but an extension of the game engine that allows mods to do some things that the vanilla game cannot, and is required by many mods before they will work. Having it installed will have no effect on any mod that does not need it.

Installing OBSE (Oblivion Mod Manager) will help you to manage mods - again, not a mod and it actually works outside of the game.

Now find a small mod such as a single weapon or single armor to install. DO NOT pick a huge game changing mod to start with as that will almost guarantee failure.

Get that mod working before doing anything else - be sure you test it to be sure it works.

Now pick a slightly more advanced mod uch as a house mod. again get it working before moving on

Now a mod with a short quest. keep moving up always testing before the next mod. After a few mods you will have to start considering load order. the game data list ignores load order altogether and is useless at this point - you will need a mod manager - OBMM is the simplest one for neophytes. Be sure to read the instructions. As your mod list grows you may need BOSS (Better oblivion Sorting Software) another non mod that works outside of the game to help with setting proper load order.

Now you are ready for the more advanced mods - Some require Wrye Bash, a more complex mod manager. It is compatible with both OBMM and BOSS and can be used with them.

By installing mods one at a time and always getting them to work before moving on you build your load list as you go.

yeah i think all your problems of mods not functioning correctly if at all was because of user account control boss works by using your internet connection to compare your mods with an online database to best set the load order its a smart idea especially since your new to this to backup your data folder or entire oblivion folder to another location on your pc if space allows it since it you screw your game up with mods ect you can just replace the folder without having to re install your game shivering isles addons patches ect

oblivion mod manager supports omods how can i put this is you were to install a mod like ooo its not a single fine or two that you can chuck in the data folder and just activate its got lots of folders that copy to different folders and sub directorys of your data folder if you manually installed this uninstalling it would be near impossible to remember what to remove omods supported by oblivion mod manager allow you to simply double click it in the manager to activate it and like wise you can tick a box to remove the mod completely and it wont mess your data folder up

not all mods come available as omods tho only some others you can download a file if someones made it omod conversion data file witch automates the process of creating omods with oblivion mod manager for big mods such as ooo and you can manaually create them aswell

might seem like a bit much to take on if your just getting into the basics but if you truely want to use big mods without screwing your data folder up and reinstalling ect over and over i belive omods are the only feasible thing way of using mods for oblvion

certain bigger mods can conflict with each other and sometimes you will have to make a choice of one of the other or they will damage one another cause issues instability sometimes a modder mite get both a and b and make them onto one mod without bugs a compile-ration

with wyre bash or whatever theres a function called bashed patch where if you have two mods that would conflict and wouldnt work together using bashed patch actually creates a mod based around the mods your using and the ones that cause issues with one another and it basially mods your mods and makes the incompatible files compatible so you dont have to choose between files

fcom is a good example of 4 mods you couldnt usually use together theres guides and omod conversion data for mmm and fcom and im pretty sure the ooo files have converstion data build into the downloads to create omods for it not 100% gonna try setting up fcom at a later point to get it going and this site will give you an understanding of everything about using mods suggest you look if your keen
