A question of duplicates entries

I just use FOMM/NVMM to unpack stuff from .BSA, move the mods around into a usable order, apply archive invalidation. 99% of the time that's all I use it for. There's only limited support for anything else, so I guess most folks figure "why bother" That or they are too busy playing the game, which sounds much better for everybody. Durring the development of FOMM/NVMM a lot of the time these secondary functions were still in development or "broken" so a lot of us got in the habit of not using those parts.

Duplicate Entries for example... It could be referring to "Identical to master records" because actual duplicate entries are quite common an benign, however the identical to master situation somewhat fitting that same discription is actually quite detrimental to game play. At this point in the game IDM records probably cause 75% of the total issues with FO3/FNV give or take a few groin kicks an CTD's. IDM records are a product of creating content inside the GECK, clicking an clacking, an saving an loading the next day, an clicking an clacking some more.

Before you upload a mod you should clean it, but nobody does that because mostly we are all lazy idiots, even if we were not someone would forget, because it's hard to upload something without forgetting something. Plus a lot of the time someone is only making this or that mod, just to make a mod, for whatever reason, rather than the actual technical development process. Pretty much the responsibility rests on the end user (that's you) to clean the mods. While you can't clean the DLC because it breaks them, 99.9% of player made mods can be cleaned without breaking them. Guide by CSB

I just load the whole load order at once, then clean it top to bottom. Apply the filter. Remove IDM records, set delete to disabled, top to botom. Remove the filter start at the top, clean masters, sort masters. This is all done by right clicking the mods names in the left window of the application. Any mods that are "dirty" will display in Bold text, thus showing they were modified. So when finished, press Ctrl S to save, watch to see if it caused an error trying to save (which is common) Then if it does error then just apply the filter an clean that mod again an save it again which fixes it.
