DarthStar
To start here is my list of mods. I also have NMCs_Texture_Pack_For_New_Vegas Small version. I originally had the large one but I uninstalled using the uninstaller for it and went with the small one to see if I could increase performance. It didn't work. I am also not entirely sure that I installed everything correctly, specifically with regards to patches for mods and patches to make mods compatible. I ran FNVEdit many times to check and see if I would be getting crashes and made sure everything runs. It does run at the very least. It might also be worth noting that I had less than half of these mods before and I still got crashes every ten minutes of play or so. Then I removed all the mods and did a reinstall because I was hoping to use nVamp but that turned out to be too difficult to install (and I had my doubts whether or not I had a clean install or not). So I reinstalled my previous mods and added a lot more. Needless to say I have been using the Fallout Mod Manager with the New Vegas Script Extender. So would anyone care to help me? I thank you in advance.
Sunnie
This appears to be the typical "you have too many mods" issue. Start dropping some you don;t care about, and merge most or all of the tiny mods. That should fix you up. And if you aren't already, and have the ram, use the 4gb enabler. DarthStar
Okay I have some questions then: How would I go about merging smaller mods? Would texture packs count as mods to get rid of? What should I do about the problems I am having with content loading? Does the FOMM make sure various patches and things are done correctly? (If not then I must have screwed up installing things, its just difficult with so many). And lastly, are there any here that you would recommend removing? michel92
Alright, here I go: How would I go about merging smaller mods? For that, use the FNVPlugin Utility (http://www.newvegasn...le.php?id=39655).Download the file and follow the steps in the ReadMe carefully. Would texture packs count as mods to get rid of?The "too many mods" problem only counts towards plugins, so texture packs shouldn't be a problem. At least for that matter. What should I do about the problems I am having with content loading? It appears that having too many plugins can cause those issues, but it can be bad installation as well. Always make sure to install mods with FOMM for uninstallation ease, ESPECIALLY replacers. Does the FOMM make sure various patches and things are done correctly? (If not then I must have screwed up installing things, its just difficult with so many). As you do already, FNVEdit looks if you have missing masters. For proper load order, use BOSS (http://www.newvegasn...le.php?id=35999). FOMM also has BOSS built in. Don't forget to read what mod authors say about where to load their mods as well. A lot of small mods can be placed pretty much anywhere in the load order w/o problems. And lastly, are there any here that you would recommend removing? Firtsly, as a general rule, don't use mods that attempt to do the same thing. Right of the bat I saw that you are using FOOK and PN's equipment module. Even with a merged patch, which you're not using (and it's HIGHLY recommended, especially with that many mods), I guess that would only be possible with a major compability patch. So I would recommend dropping one of those out, for instance. For the others, it's pretty much up to you, as everyone know which mods you can't do without, and which are not so essencial.
