madgamer
I am doing the quest to get scales for the fisherman with the bum leg. I have 6 and I followed the green point and am sitting there and no slauterfish. waiting does not help is there a bug?, a cheat code? A little help please. Madgamer the green arrow works for the first 6 then the fish just are not there any more. I am a level 13 but that should not matter should it? Can someone please tell me where to find the console code to finish this quest. Madgamer
wayne0188
the console command is: sqt ( gives you quest id) setqueststage sq09 100 http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Go_Fish check this page for more info... NOTE: use this as a last resort only! you should try to finish the quest on you own first...
xenxander
Yes, sometimes (rarely) the marker shows a place in the water, but a slaughterfish is really flopping around on land (had one flop around right at the feet of the guy giving the quest *laughs* that was a funny moment). sometimes they can generate really deep in the water and are non-hostile until you swing at them, othertimes it glitches and they actually appear above you in the sky. OH and on a personal note, don't pick-pocket the scales after you give them to him to complete the quest. they remain in your inventory as 'quest' items and as such cannot be eaten, used in potions, or dropped / sold... CoolCat6
Yeah, I don't think I ever completed that quest on any of my characters. The quest just pissed me off.
Sojiro
He says he has a bum leg, but he's lying. Try getting him to run after you :P Yeah, I don't think I ever completed that quest on any of my characters. The quest just pissed me off. You get a Water-breathing enchanted ring. It's good if you're at low levels.
bben46
I have completed this quest with all of my characters. Having a detect life can help. Once, like you, I couldn't find the last fish and didn't have a detect life spell. I followed the green arrow round and round. The fish was inside of a rock. There was a small bit of fin sticking out. I had to hit the rock 5 or six times but I eventually killed it and was able to complete the quest. Another time when the green arrow kept changing location, the fish turned out to be on the other side of a sand bar. After crossing the sand above water, the arrow finally led me to it. I think the arrow kept changing because the fish was swimming up onto land and I think the alive waters mod kills off fish when they do that. So it had to re spawn and do it again until I figured it out. Sometimes you have to go away and come back later to complete it.
meaminotaur
ive completed that quest but then i kill the guy for a better reward my question is did you kill any slaughterfish there b4? cause it is possible that you wiped em out. I once wiped out mountain lions on my 53 kajiht!

xenxander
Lions respawn like other beasties. The fish don't after your kill them off. If you can (never verified this) find them before you get the mission, then I would bet the farm that the scales would be 'quest' items even then and couldn't be removed. Like if you just go cave-diving and find quest-related amulets and such, you'll have them in your inventory as a quest item but not know for who or what they are for until - unless you get the quest.
