Need some help with some random texturing problems

Hey I am working on creating a black wolf and a polar bear, and I have made the appropriate meshes for them, EXCEPT there are problems:

-for the wolf mesh, it works perfectly up close, but the farther you get away from it, the more it begins to change into the original wolf texture

-for the polar bear mesh, the body for some reason is invisible with the exception of the feet.

what can i do to fix these?

The wolf sounds like the dds file doesn't have the mipmaps setup right, but I could be wrong. For the bear, it sounds like it isn't seeing the mesh or the texture one of the two. Download and run refscope, which is a mod that let's you look at a creature or person in game and see what it has equipped. it also tells you if there are any problems and what they are like missing textures.

alright the mipmaps, so what do i do about them? everytime i edit my textures in photoshop, it asks if i want to display them, i enter yes and it comes up with like five exponentially smaller images of the main one. do i have to edit every single one of those? or do a save it different way? cuz right now i am saving it using 1 bit alpha and "use existing mipmaps" for the mipmap options. what should i do for that?

and for the bear, do you just recommend i remake the texture and mesh? cuz it wouldn't take that much time

For the texture, make sure that when you look at the properties of the mesh that it points to the texture with the correct path. I have seen the textures get the wrong path due to various reasons. Make sure the path shows data\textures\your folder or where ever you save the textures.

For the mipmaps, what settings are you choosing in the nVidia plugin when saving? DXT1, DXT3, DXT5?
