CyrusAmell
As the title suggests, I was wondering how exactly you went about contributing to mods that require voice actors. I don't mean to say that my voice is anything to brag about, but I would love to do something to help out. I have no technical skills so to speak of when it comes to other aspects of making mods so I thought I would start here. What I want to know is the required equipment and programs needed in order to create voice files that can be integrated into a mod. Is there something extra I can do to make the voice work better? Thank you to those who take the time to read this and answer. Edited September 14, 2011 by CyrusAmell
AveTruetoCaesar
All you really need is a quality mic and Audacity, and your set.
Bdthemag
Typically the mod creator will ask for some voice actors, then you would send in a video/recording of your voice. If the mod creator likes it then he'll send you some lines for you to record, you record them and send them to the mod creator. Thats pretty much it, i've never voice acted though so this information may be a bit innacurate. For required equipments/programs all you really need is a good mic (Not a crappy 10$ one) and recording software. You would just send the MP3 to the mod maker and he/she would convert it to a file usuable for F:NV/

Quetzlsacatanango
MP3. Wav will work but wav files are uncompressed. Meaning the file size has the potential to be big.
