custom weapons (meshes & other)

in the attatchment there is an image of my new weapon. i just need to know a few things about custom weaponry.

1) i have edited an existing mesh using blender and now whenever i drop the sword it floats in mid air and i cannot pick it up, i think it is because it turns into a static object but im not sure. i basically asking 'how do i make it pickupable and make it fall (i think its something to do with havok)'

2) Enchantments, how can i make the sword glow all the time with the same colour as the blade. right now i can only make other people light up when i hit them by using the 'light' enchantment in the construction set.

anything at all (links to a tutorial, advice, or anthing) will be useful,

Thanks.

i tried turning up the emmisive colour on nifskope but that didn't make it give out light. and a glow map won't work because i wan't it to give out light like a torch not just glow.

do you have any other ideas?

Can't you just give it a light enchantment? You'd need to make a new enchantment (they're somewhere in the object tree on the left of the screen), set it's effect to be light, and make it constant effect, then go to the sword's properties menu, in the drop-down list for 'enchantment', find your one, and it should work.

Weapon enchantments can only be on touch. Light effects only get applied to the person being hit with light. You would need a script on the weapon which would add an ability with light to the player, then remove that ability when the weapon is removed. As for the shimmer on the weapon, that color is determined by the effects on the weapon and the shader settings for that effect. As of 1.2, custom effects are broken. Beyond this, there is no way to make a weapon, or any worn item, have a special look to it.
