Dual Wielding

OK, so I've seen some pics for some mods where someone is dual wielding weapons. One occurance that comes to mind is the man with no name mod where there's a pic of his guy holding a revolver in one hand and a rifle in the other. So why hasn't a mod come out that allows you to dual wield weapons. Maybe not rifles, but at least pistols/revolvers. The one downside is that you're probably not going to make a "true iron sights" where the aim-point will be between them.

Uhh...not another thread about this...please use the search bar, it will give you a million threads about this, and why it will most likely not happen.

..uuummmm....have YOU ever typed dual wielding into the search, there's nothing with dual wielding in name or description that comes up. Also, did you actually read the description I gave about pics of someone's character already doing it, (again) yet no search came up for dual wielding.

Basically, Matt, this game can't support dual wielding. It just won't work. Chances are, the pic you saw was either photo-shopped, which is more likely, or it was simply a change in the animation, which is less likely.

I've viewed many threads in the past regarding dual wielding. While it would be very, very cool to battle it out with dual knives or dual pistols, the engine just doesn't support it to my understanding. And to make such a mod would require entirely new...everything, pretty much. It'd be no small task, to say the least.New animations for movement, reloading, firing, etc etc.

But yeah, there's been many threads like this one. Sorry to add to the spoiling of your dream, but this is how it is, sadly. :(

The vid exists. I have seen it. And another one with horse-riding (and shooting on top of it, nonetheless). But that one was just an experiment by whoever created that (also the horse was from oblivion). It's not available to the public. At least not when I checked it last.

As for the thread starter not able to "find" dual wield requests in the forum before, please visit the link: http://www.google.co...iw=1303&bih=662

That one showed around 700 results. Enough?

EDIT: I found the videos.

Wow, thanks for the clarity and the awesome vids, I particularly like the one with the cowboy stripper styled costume motorcycle that shoots two chain guns and missiles and can be jumped off of at high speed and have it crash and explode on a target. The band was awesome too

The one of his/hers where you have wings and can actually fly with them (look at the companion) is awesome too, I wonder if they would ever post these mods somewhere?

The video isn't working, it just stays black.

They won't be released most likely. I believe the author has said so in their video page uploaded on here. They are EXTREMELY glitchy if I remember correctly.

Ok, a couple of things I'd like to point out:

1) The game engine is not set up to support dual wielding. As was already stated, animations would have to be redone, which is no big deal. However, to successfully impliment it, you need to re-write parts of the game engine - which is a VERY huge deal. But it is doable by someone, or a team, that has the required knowledge and time - I'll give you this one.

2) Re-writing the game engine and releasing it publically in the form of a mod, new software, etc. is a copyright violation and no one is going to risk a huge ass fine just to make all of us happy as hell. This would easily explain why the creator of those videos will not release his mod, aside from the aformentioned bugs and glitches.

3) I've seen some of the images you're talking about. Some are photoshop-ed, others are custom-made static poses - I'm not sure of the difficulty in making them, but it must be far easier to make a static(non moving) object have things, such as dual wielding of weapons, as opposed to a playable, fully functioning mod that gives the same things. In short, they are well made frauds, made with the use of mods/modding software or picture editors.

Now, the good news - Skyrim, the next Elder Scrolls game, is supposedly going to feature dual wilding of weapons. And it's an entirely new game engine Bethesda developed internally. They wouldn't have spent countless dollars and hours developing a new engine just for a single game - and it's a very strong possibility that our next Fallout adventure will run on the Creation engine - and thus have all of the abilities that it can provide ingame.

I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but to the best of my knowledge what I said is the cold hard facts.
