lemonfan1
Time for a not-so-serious debate! =D The Flood; a parasitic alien life form with a seemingly insatiable desire to infect any sentient species they encounter. Upon infection, they proceed to quickly spread throughout the body of their prey and take over, gaining all the knowledge of the body's previous owner. They were such a threat that the Forerunners had to kill themselves and all sentient life in the galaxy in an attempt to merely starve the threat out of the galaxy. An action that ultimately failed in the end. The Borg; a race of cybernetic beings whose only desire and ultimate goal is perfection. They assimilate any species whose technology is of sufficient advancement to aid in their quest for perfection. Recognized for their brutality and efficiency, they are a danger to all sentient life in the galaxy. Their greeting is met as your individualistic end. ""We are the Borg. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Resistance is futile." ************************************************************************************************ I've not played anything past Halo: Combat Evolved for PC. Well, I played Halo 2 to some Covenant world on my brother-in-law's X-Box once. I've also only ever read Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, Halo: Evolutions volumes 1 and 2. So I don't know if there would be anything relevant to add from other games or books. For me, it's hard to say who would win. While the Borg have the technology, the Flood can come in great numbers and in a variety of forms. They are an adaptive, and intelligent species. And if even ONE drone gets infected, the Flood would then gain all the knowledge and power of that drone. But again, the Borg has technology. They could use force fields for quite some time. And their weapons, which can disintegrate living organisms would be a great asset, as it's not plasma or projectile-based such as the weapons used by the Covenant and UNSC (military in the Halo universe). Also, if it matters, I don't think it's been proven one way or the other whether or not the Flood can survive in the vacuum of space. I'm certainly interested in hearing any of your opinions or ideas of what would happen. Edited September 17, 2011 by lemonfan1
