filechick
Did anyone else catch that the default name is Prisoner? Suggests that once again we start the game as a prisoner of some sort.

Todd had already confirmed months back that we were again starting the game as a prisoner.
modder3434
in all of the elder scrolls we started out as a prisoner, so why filechick would you assume we start out someway diffrent? like in a house with a wife and kid and then we suddenly start dragon hunting? we always start as a prisoner, its where we start the role-playing experiance for that character. When i was in a cell in oblivion i decided i was arrested for becasue i tried to assasinate the Count of Bravil and got caught. So that would explain why i joined the DB, why the count didn't like me and why i went back and assasinated him.
Fatalmasterpiece
Looks like less customization now besides the scars and war paint.Look at it this way:Quality over quantity. Every slider option you change in Skyrim won't make your character look like a troll. In Oblivion everything had sliders, though you could very easily end up looking like a troll. Your logic is faulty. That's like walking into a sandwich shop and being told there are only three kinds of sandwiches and you aren't allowed to alter the toppings but at least this way you won't make a bad decision and have a poor tasting sandwich. It's safe to say my characters in Oblivion didn't look like trolls and I'm perfectly capable of walking into a sub shop and choosing my meats, cheeses and toppings without it tasting like a troll. AltreU
I made some completely h-i-d-e-o-u-s characters for entertainment, but I find that you can easily make a fairly decent/attractive character if you put some time into it. By "some time", I mean a few hours. At least it took me that long to get the appearance that I wanted. Someone mentioned Oblivion only using the slider options from FaceGen-yes it's true that it did, but you could download the software and use it to create a model that looks exactly like you and replace one of your characters face with it. I had to edit the generated face a little and it took a long ass time for it to generate it, but it was pretty fun running around with a character that looked like me.http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/turned.gif The pictures I used weren't all that great either. My netbook camera is really low quality, so it might have came out better if the camera were higher quality.
