I am using a Creative X-Fi and I heard that this card might produce some issues. Restarting the game helps... but I do not want to have to restart it frequently. I found no solution so far. Well, I can't tell you since nobody else answers here  But I have read that Creative soundcards are a constant source of trouble in Bethesda Games - though I have issues only in Fallout 3 and New Vegas.
