EvillHippie
Haven't cheated on the game since I first played it right after release. I had my fun playing around with the paralyze skill and god mode and all of that. lol I don't touch the difficulty meter. Its right in the middle. I don't have any god objects. I even vendor items that seem iffy. So I've been playing Lost Spires. Awesome mod. Best one I've seen yet. And I've played a good bit of them. Theres been some very hard challenges. Which is what you play a game for. :) But this Avatar fight may be a bit much for me. :( I'm a lvl 29 Khajit with heavy armor and using blunt weapons. Also my strong point is conjuration. This does me no good in this fight as I never have magicka on me. I mess things up with my mace pretty well. But its hard to tell if I'm doing anything at all with this Horn(sword). I've tried many times. I even use 6 pots of invisibilty to let my fatigue regen after it is completely depleted. Without that I'm not sure if I even have any reason for trying this. Still don't know if I have any reason even with those pots. So am I missing something here? I start off with 101 Strong Healing pots. I've gotten to the point where I'm down to like 15 and still lose. I chop at him endlessly. Draining fatigue and going invisible to regen then do it all over. Rinse and repeat. Its not enough to kill him. And as far as I know I could have only knocked maybe a quarter of his life off. lol And I've read escaping the dungeon is basically impossible after you beat him. Great. lol I'll be doing other things in Oblivion in the meantime. Please help me! lol
ffa1mf
Don't fight long - do a few hits and run away - find water real quick when it gets nasty. It can be beaten, but not without dying a few times. Awesome mod though.
EvillHippie
Don't fight long - do a few hits and run away - find water real quick when it gets nasty. It can be beaten, but not without dying a few times. Awesome mod though. Can't run. The tops of all 4 staircases are barred. I put it on easy 1 time and beat him and experimented with the get-away part. I know where the water is. It didn't start with all the fire until he was dead. I mostly just want to know how am I expected to beat this guy? Maybe if I had more athletics and proficient with blade. But in my current state, I have no idea if I'm even coming close. ffa1mf
I hope you have a save game before you entered the chamber. Don't enter the chamber and get trapped by the doors. I usually engage him by arrow or some destruction spell from a distance outside of the gates so I don't get trapped in the chamber.I can't recall if the gates reopen if you enter the chamber and have engaged the avatar, but it seems to me entering the chamber is a death trap as the ceiling collapses too fast to escape anyway.I let him chase me down the hall so I can get closer to the exit and have more escape time. If you hate will-o-the-wisps, you're going to really love that part.I typically kill him in the hall and have just enough time to escape. Again, expect to be crushed by ceiling and over run by fire a few times before you achieve this all. I actually wonder how many people finished this mod as it was the toughest boss I ever faced in any mod I've played. Took forever to figure out a strategy. Hmmm... have not played this in a while, may be time to load it again.
Lord J
Escutcheon of Chorrol. He'll kill himself. Reflect damage is pretty OP in Oblivion. I can't say I've found any boss hard in Oblivion. Long, but not hard purely because after a while your character is so tough that nothing seems to phase them.

And this time I also had Ruin Tale and the Captain from the Lich's tower from the Malevolent mod with me as well. lol Maybe one could consider that cheating as well. But it was fun to give the Avatar a beat down! Escaping was pretty simple after I practiced it and found the water before-hand. Thanks again.
