MojaveMike
An idea I got for a lore friendly radio station. If you're unsure of what Garage rock is, it's basically amateurish, highly distorted rock from the late 50's-early 60's. Garage rock took influence from Rockabilly, Surf, Blues, R&B, and British Beat music. With it's heavy use of the fuzzbox, the genre was the loudest of it's time, and helped pave the way for Psychedelic Rock, and later Punk, Hard Rock and Metal. Now, given the divergence of the Fallout timeline, those later styles never developed, meaning Garage may have been the heaviest, most rebellious music in the Fallout universe, making it perfect Lore-Friendly raider music! It's also perfect for a Radio Station on the nexus because there's THOUSANDS of Garage rock bands from the 60's, many of them probably got signed to small record companies that might be out of business, meaning that there may be a tonne of music in the public domain or is incredibly obscure. As well, there's many small time modern bands making Retro Styled garage rock, meaning it would be easy to get permission from them. These factors combined means that there's a low chance of the Nexus getting sued for copyright violations! I figured this station needs a plot behind it and a quest. My idea is that the station is run by a former raider, and recently he's been getting flack from the NCR for promoting rebellion amongst young people in the region. I'm not to sure about what the plot would be exactly, because at the moment I feel finding the music is most important. If anybody wants to help, feel free to post here. Also, if you want to help find music, here's a few examples of Garage rock.Black KeysThe original version of Hey Joe by The Leaves
