Modelling and fallout new vegas.

Overwatch12

Recommended Posts

Alright, I seem to have hit a snag when it comes to mod development.

Primarily modelling. Now before you ask yes, I've read some tutorials, I'm not one of those types who waves around questions without prior research. The thing is, I'm not even sure where to start. I'm also using blender, as I mentioned in the description of this post.

Mainly, I'm wanting to make armor and weapons. If anyone here has any experience with this or can find a good tutorial, please for the love of god, let me know.

(This is damn frustrating and overwhelming. :wallbash: )

If you have not done any 3d modelling yet, then start by making small/simple changes to existing meshes. First, find an outfit or armour that you like, but which could be easily improved or altered in some way. Then import it into Blender and play around with it I guess. It doesn't matter if it doesn't look great after your first attempt, because you will learn more by making mistakes than if you do not even try. I find that it also helps to make more than one attempt at doing the same thing.

How do I import an armor into blender?

You could figure that out very easily by doing a little more research. But I'll tell you how to do it anyways. I will assume that you have Blender, Python, and the Blender NifScripts installed. In Blender, go to File, Import, NetImmerse/Gamebryo. Locate the NIF file of your choosing, left click it, then right click it, then click open (or import?). You will be given a bunch of options. Your choice will vary depending on what you are importing and what you want to do with it, but the settings in the following image should work for most armour and outfits.
