Cine_eater
Just a bit of fun but how about a map merchant that will buy maps of caves, ruins etc that you have explored. He could give or sell you scrolls that duplicate your mini map onto the scroll as soon as you have completely explored a cave or ruin and they could have different values depending on how difficult the areas were and even have clients that will pay extra for certain mapped areas. Vagrant0
Not possible for pretty much the same reasons here: http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=43539 and then some. There is simply no way to output the minimap to a file, then have that file red by an object in the game. The only way you could come close would be preparing maps for every area beforehand by exploring them, taking a screenshot of the minimap, doing some graphical editing, and attaching that to an item. At which point, you're talking about an excessive amount of work to create something which can never be as good as something the game already does well enough. Being able to look at a map of a dungeon does absolutely no good outside that dungeon. There is also the issue where the mini map might be different depending on what mods people have installed. The mini map is generated live. Any change to buildings, rocks, trees, containers, or anything which is a perminant part of that area will cause a change to the minimap. dangle
but still, the idea of selling maps of dungeons that you have explored for a little extra cash is a lot better than some of your other suggestions. :)
Cine_eater
Fair enough, I hadn't thought about mods changing the layout to dungeons. dangle - :D
