Guy97
The topic pretty much says it all, I was looking for a way to change his hair from being used as a wig, to actual hair. If anyone could provide any links to tutorials or provide info, that would be great.
Bdthemag
Ulysses hair I believe is apart of his mesh, so you can't really make it into a playable hairstyle.
Sunnie
His hair is part of NVDLC04HelmetUlysessNPC (Ulysses_maskface.NIF). Its a complete head with breather mask and hair.
Quetzlsacatanango
Cut the hair out of the head mesh, then use conformulator to, er, conformulate it. I don't think conforumulator works on rigged meshes either so you'd have to de-rigify it probably.
Guy97
Oh, so it is much more difficult to make it as a hair. I have it all seperated (the head, hair, breather, eyes and such), but I am guessing it is easiest just to make it a wig.
Quetzlsacatanango
Easy, yes, but it won't fit right on different size heads without conformulating.
greywaste
I've done tons of wigs this way, trick is just to import a default head and then scale and tweak vertices so that overall it's about 5-10% bigger than the default head (you'll find your ideal through 1 or 2 tests). Ulysses dreads would be pretty easy since there's no short areas where over/under sizing could occur. After that with rigging, I'd just run with every vertex being 100% bip01 head influenced. I don't bother setting them up as hairs nowadays - This is a hair I set up as a wig, doesn't poke through the back or shoulders since it's rigged : http://www.newvegasnexus.com/imageshare/image.php?id=16590
Quetzlsacatanango
I'm guessing devs found it overly hard to do which is why they made it part of his head in the first place.
