NmESeth
I'm installing all of the FCOM files as we speak, following the several different guides to the dot. Now my real question, what would the install order (Not load order) after FCOM be, for the following mods (Sorted into categories) I have all of these mods downloaded (I was bored) and they are installed in this folder structure below. I do hope I included enough details for you to help me out, and thank you very much if you decide to spend your free time helping me sort my mods out. I've tried about 5 different times to install mods I like, and I always seem to mess it up. For now I'm simply trying to deal with the install order. I'll post the load order that B.O.S.S. gives me after I install them, and then probably make another post about the best load order possible. tl;dr - In what order should I install these mods listed below? NOTE: I install every file via .omod or BAIN after the official patches + unofficial patches. This allows for extremely easy conflict resolution. Keirgarth
From what I can tell of what you listed here is my suggestions. Install each mod and then play test for 10 or so minutes outside the sewers before the next mod is installed. First off install all of your utility programs prior to anything else. You will need them for each step along the way. I would then install the updates, both official and unofficial followed by your performance mods. In your equipment mods list you have bob's armory, and that has a specific order for install in the FCOM manuals and instructions on the web.Game play and appearance mods can be installed after the FCOM install, but again, test after each install. The additional provinces as well as the borderless oblivion should not be affected by any of your other mods so they could be installed at any time. Just be sure to read the readme's to see if there are area's that overlap. The rest you can install in any order after the above. There may be specific load order's that have to be watched out for, so read all the readme's to be sure. Good luck and have fun. :)
NmESeth
Thanks Keirgarth! Kudos to you for helping me! Would you recommend any more game play mods or overhauls? Looking for these mods that would work with FCOM....(See below questions) -What is the best magic overhaul mod? I'm thinking of Midas Magic and Supreme Magicka. Unsure of how to install them after FCOM. -Leveling overhaul? nGCD would work, but I don't know if there is a better one. -Birth-sign and Race Bonus mods? nGCD has a very nice birth sign update, but no matching race update. -Facial textures, perhaps Natural Faces? Keirgarth
I use Mighty Magicka Reborn, but Supreme Magicka works out well too. From what I hear Midas is also great, adds a lot of new spell types. I use nGCD for leveling myself. I like it a lot as there is little you need to worry about that can't be changed to suit your needs. As far as birth sign and facial textures, I haven't messed with them yet, mainly due to my lack of desire to mess with body models other than EVE which has a number of EyeCandy varients and patches for FCOM mods. I also use Armamentarium for additional weapons and armor. Realistic Force for better appearance when mobs die and when they are hit with lethal magic spells. and I have changed the night eye color and the detect creature color. I also use better cities, better clocks for better cities, all natural and immersive interiors. These should give you some ideas, as I know everyone has their own tastes so experiment :) Word of advice, if you have the room, once your game is running with those mods, make a backup of the data folder somewhere outside the oblivion folder in case you mess up the game installing mods. This will let you get back to your current point without having to install everything all over again. Be warned though, the data folder gets quite large. Mine is around 18Gig so far. NmESeth
I use Mighty Magicka Reborn, but Supreme Magicka works out well too. From what I hear Midas is also great, adds a lot of new spell types. ~Yeah, I've heard the same, Once I get a stable oblivion setup after FCOM working (With a few small things like sounds and GUI mods and such) I will play around with a few of the magic overhauls. I heard you can use Midas Magic with Supreme Magicka, which might be the best option. I use nGCD for leveling myself. I like it a lot as there is little you need to worry about that can't be changed to suit your needs. ~My suspicions confirmed, nGCD seems to be the best option, and by your response I will assume its FCOM compatible. As far as birth sign and facial textures, I haven't messed with them yet, mainly due to my lack of desire to mess with body models other than EVE which has a number of EyeCandy varients and patches for FCOM mods. ~Since I asked, I will be use Cobl's Race Balancing mod, which answers my question there. Facial textures I will also leave to Cobl's TNR, and as far as player facial textures, I'll probably just use some beauty mods from Beautiful People. Any advice on which compatibility file to use? it lists combinations of the following acronyms; BR, MMM, and MM. I also use Armamentarium for additional weapons and armor. Realistic Force for better appearance when mobs die and when they are hit with lethal magic spells. and I have changed the night eye color and the detect creature color. I also use better cities, better clocks for better cities, all natural and immersive interiors. ~I'm following the current up-to-date tutorial thread on the Bethsoft Forums, which highly recommends Armamentarium, so I'll be including that. As far as realistic force; I'll be installing Deadly Reflex 6 after FCOM. So I dont know if Realistic Force will work with Deadly Reflex. Then I will probably your better cities + clocks + all natural + immersive interiors. <3 those kinda mods. ~Thanks! I almost forgot to back up multiple versions of my oblivion folder! I have a vanilla backup so far, but I'll be adding a Post-FCOM backup, then a Post-FCOM+MyMods. (General mods like nGCD and smaller mods that I get to work.
Keirgarth
Only thing I can say about compatibility mods is to be sure that the readme specifies the mods you are running. Obviously I don't mean all of them, but with you running FCOM, the compatibility should address at least one of the 4 main mods.
NmESeth
:P I messed up loading screens somehow. Gotta reinstall oblivion! :(
NmESeth
My goal actually, is to make a list of mods that all work with FCOM. Basically a list or even a download package people can use to straight up use all of the mods I use. ^_^ I think it would be useful. But considering skyrim is coming out in a month, I don't think there is too much of a point.
Keirgarth
There are hundreds of mods that work with the FCOM package, you just have to be careful of how you install them and in what order they load. Due to issues with the game itself, your results may be different than anyone else's when it comes to mods due to many many reasons. As for creating a package download that mimics your install set, that is likely to be huge, and you will want to provide absolute instructions on how and when to install and test everything. Be prepared to be able to troubleshoot if you create a compilation, as you are going to be the only one that can provide specific answers to issues that might come up. NmESeth
Hmmm. I will be installing (For body mods, anyway). Wondering if these will work! Realistic Ragdolls and Force v3 SI COMPATIBLE with extras from D2ks_Action_RagdollsCazy Hair PacHGEC Body4096x4096 High Res Textures for HGEC Body and Nec Mystic Dark+High ElfOblivion Pose Pack 3, Erotic Pose Pack 2 (No. I'm ashamed. xD)Estrus Full I'll be testing the game after every mod as well, this is before FCOM, so anything can be overwritten. I'm wary about installing Qarls Texture Pack + Bromets with having body mods. Should I install those first?
