Mannequin's

Hi :)

So basically i got a hold of a mannequin mod the other day, i really like the idea of it. there's a few different variations available. but i went for the one with the darkbrotherhood display cell. Anyway i like the idea of other variations, with more variations. so i'll try them.

In the meantime the query i've got is how, if it is possible. Can i cast the setbody spell onto the mannequin? If you look at my other post you'll see i use the v3.7 belly body.

When i attempt to cast setbody on a mannequin, nothing happens, i can cast on self absolutely fine, but the mannequin doesn't respond.

I cast flare at the mannequin but that seems to go right through it. In the cs race gendata tab the mannequin has full resists to everything minus water damage at 100 magnitude and rezno'ds (i think unaltered) mannequin script.

Tried to mess around abit, added a get body spell to the gen data, that said it was a disease, so i moved disease resist to 0, an it din't work.

Tried to reduce the magic resist to 0 to see if that would allow me to cast the setbody spell on it, but that didn't work either.

I don't know why it is i can't cast on it, but to be able to change the body shape of the mannequin depending on the character i'm playing would be ( i feel ) a great addition to the game.

I've sent of messages to the author's of the most recently updated mannequin mod's, of which reznod's original is one, to see if this can be answered for me and i'm sure other people would be interested also.

I'm Posting this so that in passing it might catch the eye of someone who knows why it is and/or has a possible fix, or an idea of one.

Hoping again this is in the right place. Many Thanks,

Usief

I did it, i got the mannequin's to respond to the SetBody spell.

I started off with the one with the darkbrotherhood display room, then went to Balakirev's cobl and non cobl versions, cause i like the race variety, then i just kept banging away at it with construction set, untill i realised i was doing the wrong thing. It's a scripting thing, nothing to do with the race ability given to the renzod mannequin race.

So i found the entries in the NPC list marked as renzod for each race, looked at them, and there was a few scripts for the individual races to do with the mannequins in the dropdown.

I looked at a few and noticed one word and a no kept jumping out at me: ghost 1

I went through the script's, there's quite a few, and changed each one to : ghost 0

That done there was nothing more to do, this time i loaded the game and dropped a mannequin and yeah, i could cast on it. Atleast i can cast SetBody on it. Havn't tried to do any damage to it.

This next bit is for Balakirev's, but the general idea can be for any of reznod type mannequins.

It's possible to get the ghost effect on the Mannequin by construction set use.

Open the mannequin esp and associated files

Click on the NPC tree filelist thing, on the left.

For each race there are 2 entry's, 3 in the case of Khajiits and Argonians ( If you type rez it should take you straight to them)

It's up to you which one you make Ghosts, i went with altering two of the Khajiit and Argonian entry's to become the reznod mannequin race

I used Marble for the Argonian, and wood for the khajiit.

Go to the race menu, andset about making the mannequinraces look like the race they were meant to be. Change the body data and face data types accordingly for the race you are ghostifying.

Now to get the effect on the two altered mannequin races.

If your using either of balakirev's no-sleep versions, or the others. Go to the magic tree entry, and in ability type rez to find the reznod mannequin ability given to the mannequin races. Edit this, you should see a lot of resists, and a script effect, this is where the night eye removal was on another mannequin mod, i think the no sleep versions are the ones that don't have it, But i'm not sure.

Either way you might want to discard the night eye detection thing, or try to join it with the ghost effect script?

I don't care if Mannequin's can be detected by nighteye, infact i think for my choice it helps, especially with the no-sleep one.

I messed about with all 4 esp's, and my memory isn't the best anyway, so i am a bit unsure of the details.

What you want to do is add a new script effect or open the one that says nothing. then type ghost in the dropdown, it should take you to Ghost ancient r sumthin. one further down is ghosteffect further is one called 32, and a parctile after that, i don't know if these work or are what i think, i use standard ghosteffect.

Save everything in the Construction set, and do what you do to prepare a launch.

Buy or visit the mannequin from whichever one you've ghosted/setbodied/both.

Drop it and cast a Body of your choice. using your choice of the available setbody spells.

I havn't noticed any problems with these alterations. and am quite enjoying my new clotheshorse

I use SetBody to apply a bodytype i never normally use, which has been replaced with nif's that make up a skeleton body out of a playable armor.

I say it was a playable armor, i re-used the nif's as body parts.

I tried to upload a screenshot here but it said it didn't allow that extension, it was facebook, but i hope this has helped someone other than me.

Many thanx,

Usief.
