Mods were working, any future ones don't

Mmmm... Ok. I downloaded a mod a while back from tessource that added an item "Leech Blade". Figured I'd start there on my modding experience. Also got OBMM, and some mods to make the environment "more realistic". Everything worked exactly as planned. All the mods did what they were to do.

 

Then the whole down time thing with tessource, and here's tesnexus.

 

I downloaded some mods... "Alexander's Wings" which is supposed to add wings for you to pick up (I have an Aragonian character, so I was interested in seeing how the dragon wings looked... hehe) as well as a Death Note mod (yeah... the anime geek in me just could not resist) and some others I cannot recall of the top of my head. I put them in, start up OBMM, check 'em, and launch.

 

Load my game... and nothing. I check the area for the wings where they are said to be located, and there's nothing there that I can see, and nothing in the surrounding boxes. I look in my inventory for the Death Note (I'm not entirely sure, but the mod file says it should appear in your inventory on load... doesn't sound like something that would work to me, but then again, I've never modded before either...)

 

Does this sound like one of those borked installations I read about? The game runs fine, just the mods are not there. Any help would be immensely appreciated. (Also, if I left out any important info, feel free to yell and scream and such. hehe)

Did you try reinstalling the entire game? And so what you're saying is the mods you previously had work but the new ones don't? (!!!)

Sorry for taking so long to reply... Computer time on the weekends is sporadic at best...

No, I've not tried reinstalling. I was hoping to avoid it if at all possible... Though if that is the recommended course of action, so it shall be. However, I believe I've got a bit more information to help.

 

I tried downloading two more mods. Bab's... bab's... something-or-other... Anyway, it's supposed to alter the character models, add new outfits, and a shop to sell the new outfits at. Also supposed to mark the shop on the map.

 

The mod altered the character models, and may or may not have added the items. I can't really tell because the shop doesn't exist. The shop was not marked on the map, so I looked up an image online as to it's location. I went there, and nothing was there.

 

Now, I'm no modder... I believe I stated that in the first post... but I've noticed so far that the problems I've been having with this is the adding of objects (like the shop, or the item chest that the wings were supposed to come in) to the world maps. I'm not sure if this is true or not, but just an observation. I'm also thinking that it may have something to do with the fact that I've never patched the game. I just installed and ran it. Any opinions on this would be greatly appreciated.
