TREXX8111
Hey i have fallout 3 GOTY edition and have been frustrated trying to get my mods to work. I downloaded fomm, fose and archiveinvalidated i then installed fomm and fose and activated archiveinvalidated my fallout so far works fine but then i realise that i need to download the latest patch for for fallout 3 1.7 to use fose so i did and installed but when i opend fallout either through fomm or autoplay it just has a dark screen saying there is a problem with fallout blah blah then closes. I have done everything including uninstalled and reinstalled removed all my mods and dlc's and nothing works i am positive that it is due of the new patch released as i have tried everthing else but can not uninstall the patch as then fose will not work so what do i do. p.s i have been through countless topics with the same problem so i just hope we can figure it out........ now we wait :armscrossed:
iFSS
If you have the GOTY edition, you don't need to patch it for FOSE, it's already at version 1.7.0.3. I'm surprised that the patch would let you proceed, are you sure it's real?

iFSS
Have you tried running FOSE without applying that patch? The latest FOSE (1.2b2):http://fose.silverlock.org/download/fose_v1_2_beta2.7zAnd latest FOSE loader:http://fose.silverlock.org/download/fose_loader.7zWork flawlessly with the GOTY edition. iFSS
Just realised something I overlooked in your first post, if you're using mods with FOSE, then you need to launch Fallout 3 via FOSE, not the original Fallout 3 launcher. Either use fose_loader.exe in the game directory, or File -> Launch Game -> Launch FOSE in FOMM.
TREXX8111
I had everything installed including DLC's. Then i installed fose and tried it out and it said i needed the latest fallout 3 update so i went to Bethesda's website downloaded the new 1.7 patch installed and then my fallout 3 would not start at all. if i tried to play it through fose it wouldnt start and if i tried the auto play it would come up where i select play game and then black screen saying its not working. iFSS
Where did you get the GOTY from? What language/region is it for? When you install the game (before you patch it), what's the file version of Fallout3.exe (right-click it, select Properties, Details tab, look for File version field)? iFSS
If you're using Windows XP, the file version is in the version tab. Where exactly did you get the GOTY from? Is it a store-bought DVD, from Steam, elsewhere?
