Someone92
Every time I try to load oblivion.esm (or any mod because that also loads oblivion.esm) the Construction Set crashes when it reaches 20-30%. Because the Construction Set worked fine a few weeks ago when I modified another mod I assumed a mod corrupted oblivion.esm, so I first deinstalled all mods, but no success, it still crashes. So, I reinstalled the game following the instructions of this post to the letter; I've installed Oblivion, Oblivion - Shivering Isles (I have the GotY edition) and TES Construction Set 1.2.404. Still no success, it still crashes at 20-30%.Searched the internet, searched this forum for a solution, no success. And by crashing I mean chrashing, not freezing or so. It worked a few weeks ago.Anyone has any ideas what causes this problem and how to fix it?
David Brasher
You might want to perform basic computer maintenance. Delete unneeded files to free up more memory. Take off the computer's cover and blow out the dust with compressed air. Run disk cleanup, Scandisk, and Defrag. Run the virus checker. You might want to use a registry cleaner program. Shut down background processes when using the CS. Disconnnect from the Internet also. Evaluate whether or not your computer has enough RAM and consider upgrading. Someone92
Did everything you said, however it didn't solved the problem. I presumed a corrupted oblivion.esm file, and indeed, once I somewhere found a download link for another oblivion.esm file and replaced mine with it CS worked again. Really strange that reinstalling didn't fixed this problem but downloading a random .esm file did. I checked the size beforehand to see if both files were identically, and there were exactly the same size...Thank you for your assistance.
