zelazko
This program is called AC3Filter. Any idea how to disable it so it won't atuomaticlly turn on when lunching the game? I think also that this AC3Filter may be require for Oblivion to run.... Edit: This AC3Filter is not responsible for dumping me into desktop. I deactivated AC3Filter with Oblivion by clicking on the setting prefer other decoder and I still managed to get dumped into desktop although AC3Filter is not running. I tried also Game Booster. It helps a game a little and I can see minimal improvement in the frame rate. Thanks again for that program. So any ideas guys? I'm 100% positive that the background processes or services are not responsible for it. Edited October 3, 2011 by zelazko
MShoap13
Post your full system specs (including video card drivers) and a load order. Anything else you're using with Oblivion such as OBSE and plugins for OBSE etc. could be helpful too. Edited October 3, 2011 by MShoap13
zelazko
4 GB RAMNvidia Geforce 9800M GTS 1GBIntel Core Duo P8700 @2.53 GHz Vista Home Premium 64 bit I would gladly give you full loading order but I can't whenever I open bash wyre all goes to hell and my mods do not work anymore meaning the Claudia Little Secret cutscenes did not want to work properly. However when I finish the Crossover from Claudia Little Secret - Sexy Maid of Choroll I will delete those two mods and update my loading list. I uploaded screenshot of my OBSE plugins. Keirgarth
Even though you are certain that your running processes are not an issue, how about a screenshot of your running processes from the task manager please. Be sure to tick the box to show processes for all users. Edited October 3, 2011 by Keirgarth
bben46
Here is another little mod - actually an OBSE plug in dll that will help quite a bit with crashes. It actually tries to recover on the fly and is successful much of the time.Windom Earle's Crash Prevention System. http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22282 It requires OBSE. Keirgarth
There are some processes that can safely be stopped while you are gaming. Some I can't advise on as I don't know your exact system config, but there are a couple that you could terminate without issues. I would first off turn off task scheduler as there are quite a number of programs that could try and look for updates, scan your system etc while you are gaming. Pnkbstra.exe is not needed for oblivion, as it is for online games that you might have installed. ETservice.exe is not needed for Oblivion either, though it might be needed for something if you are running a pristine install of an Acer PC or laptop. Windows media items are not required for playing oblivion and can safely be shut down as it will start back up the next time you try and play anything that is associated with windows media player. If you are not running 2 or more graphics cards, you don't need the xfire.exe or the 2 xfire64.exe's. The search items, like seaport and the search items listed below it are not required for playing oblivion, but do make searching on your system for files etc a little bit faster. Of all those listed, the most likely to affect your gameplay and take focus are the ETservice and the Pnkbstra.exe, though the scheduler might also be the culprit. zelazko
Mystery has been solved. Xfire is to be blamed. Ever since I disabled Xfire-in game aOblivion has not dumped to desktop. The good thing is that you can still run the xfire and its record your time spent playing, but the downside of it is that you cant take screenshots and videos.
