hello to all,

ok first of all i'm sure there's a thread out there that discusses what i'm about to ask but i can't seem to find it, and boy have i searched. secondly though i'm still new to modding, i know i am very late in asking this as i've just now gotten into oblivion (been too focused on other -ahem- bethesda games). now on to the topic at hand; i have downloaded the obmm, obse, TS4 gecko and the construction set just for the hell of it. so in the obmm loader i have my mods set up and ok i started the game. now some of the custom items loaded i have found on my own but i am having trouble with others. i was just wondering how to i look up the item code for those particular mods (ie. weapons, armor, etc.), can't seem to find them and the ones i thought i found when i tried to use the in the command console it didn't work. what am i doing wrong? how do i find them? to me it was much easier to look them up in either of the fallout's mod managers in the TESsnip window, i know it looks like i'm being lazy but hey like i said i just now started playing TES and am trying not to "catch up." if any one can help it would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Usually mods that add items describe how to get them in the readme files. What mods are you not able to find the items for?

basically one example would be the 7 demonic weapons mod (uploaded by strike105x), there is this whole quest that has to b done, each weapon having its own (i believe), but its recommended to be at higher level to "play.' but i don't want to level up that high so soon (ala cc advlevel) because i'm trying to follow the story's earlier quests fist. i was just wanting the weapons item codes so i could "try" them out, again call me lazy i know. lol

You could always open the mod in the CS and have a look at it to see what the item codes are for those weapons. Make sure that you select at least the oblivion.esm as well as that mod. Find the item in the list and double click it. You should be able to see the item code that way.

You could just type 'movetoqt' in the console without quotes, and you go straight to the quest target, so you dont need to travel or lockpick or fight or anything, and if you ne to kill someone then go to the console, click them and type kill and then they will die. do it this way to get them fast and doing the quest. It is probably the simpilist way for begginers. Hope it helped.
