Cine_eater
Hi all, I've thought of something that might interest someone, is it possible to create an enemy or summonable NPC that is basicly a standard person wearing full armour but make it so the actual NPC is invisible so the armour is the only thing showing ( animated armour ), they could come in light and heavy versions and maybe leaving them helmetless would add to effectI know when some mods are not loaded properly they do not show on your character so is this possible to do this to the NPC.It would also be a nice touch if they did not yell like a normal NPC's in battle but maybe use the wraith weeze sound instead. Cheers and Happy Halloween Cine-eater.

Cheers and Happy Halloween Cine-eater.The biggest problem is that armor meshes are hollow. Having an invisible body would allow for the interior of that armor to be visable (forcing 2 sided textures wouldn't work well enough). Additionally, some sets of armor have no visible skin, so really wouldn't have much to not see. Meaning that any meshes used would likely have to be made custom for this. Getting it to work is actually one of the easier parts. You could either use a race with a transparent skintone (a seperate race would allow you to also break any voice connections), or just not have any skin portions on the new armor meshes (since you'd have to build them anyway. But since you've got a mesh you'll have to reweight, you might as well just make it a creature (based off the skeleton skeleton and animations) which would allow you to set custom sounds, and not have to worry about the armor as actual equipment. Using the skeleton animations may even provide better fitting animations.
Cine_eater
I like the idea of making it a creature and using the skeleton animations, obviously making the actual armour the body of the creature and not equipment was how I originally imagined it but I thought making it equipment on an invisible body might be easier.I thought of having no helmet to make it more obvious this wasn't just a NPC in full armour but making it a creature could the open fronted helmets work as a head, maybe even adding some red glowing orbs as eyes or even flames. It still requires someone who can make new armor meshes, and weight them to the skeleton... So you may be in for quite a wait.
Cine_eater
Very true, I've even downloaded the construction set myself and tried it out but I can't make head nor tails of it, I'm very new to computers in general so even using mods took me about 2 weeks to work out how to install.Ah well, I'll keep trying though. Also in relation to this mod idea I'm suprised the castles in the game don't have full armour displays in the hallways etc as this would fit with my mod idea, imagine exploring a castle and suddenly the armour display comes to life and attacks you. Cine-eater.They don't have it because Devs didn't want to spend so much time on that sort of stuff. There aren't any places where that sort of thing would make sense, and having it would only lead to more (graphical) slowdown in those areas and people wanting to be able to steal the armor from the stand, or use a stand like that in their houses. But it's mostly a time and graphics issue. However, with this project there is very little you can do in the CS without having the meshes already prepared, so it's no supprise that you had trouble. And given that existing armors wouldn't look good on an invisible body (not enough showing, or too much showing. Whoever did such a mod would likely have to make and design the armor from scratch. I can see your point about people wanting to loot the armour or have the stands, but surely they could be like furniture and merely for decoration (not actual armour) and besides there is Reznods manniquins work out there for armour stands,it would have been nice to have a few dotted about the castles which would make sense, I've always felt the castles like Chorrols were a bit bare, maybe the basic armour designs could be adapted so the bottom of the curius is cut higher up so there would be a gap between the curius and the greaves and so on for each armour piece, that way it would look more like seperate armour pieces floating together to make the creature.
