How to make a new Skill?

My friend and I had a idea for a mod, and I came up with an idea for the mod, but it requires a new type of skill that isn't on the default list. I was wondering if it's possible to mod a new skill into your skill set trough the GECK? If so, can someone please explain how? Or if not, also please let me know, thank you! :)

Do not quote me on this, but I do not believe it is possible given how Obsidian added Survival skill to New Vegas that FO3 did not have. They had to remove Big guns skill, which is why you get some oddities like flamer using energy skill etc instead of Big Guns.

So you're saying that (MAYBE) there can only be a certain amount of skills in the list? If so, is it possible that I could replace a skill instead of adding in a new one? And just change the effects?

It does seem like they are hardcoded. You could replace a skill (I was actually thinking about doing this myself with hand guns/rifles) but there would be a huge of conflicts and inconsistencies, you have got to take into account skillbooks, armor bonuses, perks, attributes effecting skills etc etc depending on the skill replaced.

hm, yea that does make sense.... I was thinking Survival, because Survival doesn't really come across that much, except for perks, and I could change the perks, books, magazines, and the few dialogues that have to do with Survival to work with my new skill that I could replace... could that work?
