Should we 'clean up' mods as instructed by BOSS

Dirty edits are duplicate entries that exactly match the master file of the plugin. Not only are they unnecessary but they increase the amount of resources Oblivion uses (very, very slightly) and can cause issues where one mod modifies an entry, then a mod loaded afterwards (due to BOSSes suggested load order) re-rewrites the entry back to normal resulting in a broken mod.

Clean away, just be sure to make backups before altering any plugin in any way.

Just make note of something, even when you do clean it, BOSS will keep suggesting that it has dirty edits. All it does is say that they are there, it doesnt check for them or anything.

Incorrect. BOSS only does that for plugins that it doesn't have CRC information for. The required info is all laid out and explained in the readme. If you're getting those messages not disappearing, it's because you haven't reported their plugins' information to us as requested in the relevant official BOSS thread.
