Lowk
To address the OP, I've had in mind a particular skill set, too, but with a different approach: Only max out perks on the skills with which you want to define your character the most. For me, that was Illusion, Sneak, and Speech. I'll get every perk for those, and just pick and choose from the three or four other skills I plan on using often. Remember that One Handed branches off into several different weapon types, so you can probably just take perks for blades, or axes, and leave the others. Or, if you want the super-sneaky combat stuff, dagger perks are apparently in the Stealth tree now, not One Handed. I think this comes down to the hard questions: with which skills do you want to be Sir Grand Master Kill Everyone, and which ones can you stand just being really good? EDIT: I voted "Yes" for Smithing, because I think it sounds awesome! For you, though, I'd probably skip it if you're already doing Enchanting. SynysterShadows1213
I want to have a sneaky assassin as well, but I want combat as well not just stealth kills. You have picked:ArcheryOne-handedLockpickingSneakLight ArmorAlchemyEnchanting I like to be sneaky but hold my own in combat, and I've always been a speechy person ;) From what skills were given....I would pick:SpeechDual WeaponsSneakLight ArmorLockpickingAlchemy (maybe) Archery (maybe) Usually, I never use a bow or alchemy so for me those two can easily be switched out. So that means I have 2 extra choices until we get a full list and I go crazy because there's 1,000 to choose from! But I have to say that archery is tempting. I would personally choose Smithing over Enchantment any day, but if you want it that bad you could switch it out with Alchemy or Archery. AltreU
Can you switch between your perks anytime you want? Even between skills? Let's say you want to switch one of your archery perks to a one-handed perk, would that work? Or is it, once you've chosen there's no going back? Once you purchase a perk, that's that. You can't reallocate points as far as I know. I wouldn't care much to myself, but you could probably make a mod for that.

That's sort of how I'm going about it as well. You're right, as far as one-handed goes, I only plan on using blades. And I would use those blades only during combat, not for stealth. I'll be using my bow for stealth kills/attacks. I decided to switch out enchanting for smithing. As badly as I want to attach flames to one sword and frost to another and name them Stabby and Pokey and slay people with them, it may be more practical to simply make them stronger and stronger using smithery. I like to be sneaky but hold my own in combat, and I've always been a speechy person ;) From what skills were given....I would pick:SpeechDual WeaponsSneakLight ArmorLockpickingAlchemy (maybe) Archery (maybe) There's no skill for dual weapons. It's one-handed.
draconix
Any time spent honing the skill of crafting a weapon is time not spent honing the way of the assassin. An assassin should be able to spot a keen edge at market, or improvise in a tight spot. You need not carry with you the weapon that will slay 1000 men, you need only a weapon that will slay the next man who's got the weapon you will use next. Consider the Ninja and the Samurai. The Samurai valued his sword greatly, considered it a part of him. The sword was strong and dependable, it was the soul of that Samurai. The samurai was a warrior built for war, and needed a weapon that he could rely on for long periods of time. The Ninja however viewed the sword as a tool. They were cheaply made, and were only used as a last resort. Should the sword break, the ninja could improvise. They were not meant for prolonged combat, their missions were to strike quickly in the dark without warning, and then retreat into the shadows. BuckeyeTiba
Smithing is worth it in your case because:1. one of your skills is archery2. another is blade/one-handed3. light armor Those three right there are enough to make smithing worth it since you can make/upgrade your own bows, blades, and armor. Also since enchanting is one of your skills, with the "Arcane Blacksmithing" perk, you can upgrade gear that has already been enchanted/magical, something you can't do regularly. I suggest either removing lockpick or alchemy to replace with smithing. Alchemy is useless if you already have enchanting (which does a better job of enhancing weapons than poisons) and if you will soon have smithing. Lockpicking is fun, but not as important as the other skills you have listed.
natelovesyou
Does someone have a link to a source that states that the last level we get to pick a perk at is level 50, as mentioned in this thread? Because I'm having some huge doubts on that. But the level cap is 75.

But the level cap is 75.its a soft level cap at 50, meaning you can go all the way to level 75, but you do so at a much more slowed rate. i would say you can still get perks past level 50, but it'll just take a long time to level up in order to select one.
