Comfortable Sleeping

It' hot in Cyrodiil! Why do the NPCs want to sleep in their armor? In these days of instant-kill sleeping knives and drain health 100 points for 1 second on touch spells, armor isn't going to save them anyway. Why not have some comfort in bed?

 

So, on behalf of the residents of Cyrodiil, I ask for this mod (I'm not much of a modder, and all my attempts to create this have failed): a script (or something) on beds to make NPCs strip down to underwear/naked (obviously depending on the body mesh) upon stepping into bed. Perhaps a dummy set of armor could be used, or perhaps the same script effect used in the spell Stark Reality from Sanguine's quest. In either case, I don't know how to do it.

 

And yes, I know there are various mods that disrobe the player at rest, but there are currently none for NPCs.

I know at least the guards and bandits remove armor before going to sleep in Vanilla... There's even a special "No armor" option for certain AI packages.

Well, they don't actually 'remove their armor', they simply equip their clothing. If you steal their clothing, they'll sleep in their armor, and if you steal their armor, they'll patrol in their clothing (Which is funny to watch).

Really? At least with the Market District sewer bandits, they seem to sleep in undergarments.

You could be right (I have no idea), but is there a script for it? If there is I can give a shot at duplicating it, but I'm no scriptor.

If there was a script, it would only be usable for NPCs who are explicitly given the script, (or a new quest which could check for a few of them, but still not viable for even half of the sleep-capable NPCs) and a lot of them have existing ones that can't really be overwritten, or by a spell trigerring every 10 seconds or so on the player and checking for sleeping NPCs, which would mean only ones where a direct line between player and NPC can be drawn, with no obstacles in the middle, would be affected. (This would also be generally bad, as the longer you wait in-between castings the more NPCs will magically, in mid-sleep, lose their clothes, and the shorter you wait the higher the frame-rate blow.) So it's not really viable...
