ILikeMorrowind
(Feel free to move this where it should be. I couldn't find a relating forum) Daggerfall XP: This is what I did... 1. Partition the harddrive with a NTFS and WIN32 format. It's one harddrive shared with two different partitions. Daggerfall runs on WIN32. You can do this with your setup, but I strongly suggest you know what you're doing. Make it about 6 gigs and install a second/old operating system on it, such as win95, 98, and NT. Don't install a second XP on it.2. Install Daggerfall to the WIN32 drive. Mine is E:. E: is the win32 drive, C: is the NTFS. They are both in one hard drive.3. Set up the audio before starting.4. Make a shortcut to the desktop. Make sure all path's have the win32 drive, not C:.5. Find a program to slow down processor speed.6. Execute it. Bam. ohGr
theres another way, i found this dos emulating program, i think is was called Dos Box, it lets you play all the classics that only ran in DOS mode, (crusader : no regret and no remorse, C&C, syndicate and so on), it said it was unsupported, but i managed to install it through the dos emulator, and run it, although...its a little fast...to find it just search through google.com, you should get some interesting results. Limorkil
Does this method solve the invisible quest object bug? I saw this idea posted by someone else in the Elderscrolls forum some months ago and that person said that it enabled them to play the game but they had problems completing quests because the object of the quest often does not appear. Apparently this is some issue with XP and NT. Did you manage to fix that issue?
ILikeMorrowind
Again, I personally have not seen any problems. It's on a win32 partition meaning it is not running with XP. It's running with win98 or whatever you put on it. When you start up your computer it asks which operating system you want to load up.
ohGr
i found another easy way to get it working, and it only takes up 1gig of your hard drive. install windows 98 with XP on, that way, when the computer is starting up, you will have a choice on which OS to load up, i did it last night, and i managed to stay up all night playing Crusader : No Remorse, with the video's working. Drake Crowind
Have you tried VDMSound? It ran some games on xp that had some sound problems like Warcraft, Stonekeep, Lands of lore, ect. It helps to set compatability mode on your programs too.
Stormscape
I'm gonna do like he said. A 2gb partition for just Win98SE and Daggerfall. No internet, no nothing, just me and Daggerfall.
