brokenergy
Consequently, between this and the trend of certain vocal gamers to demand games that kill them dead quickly or be extremely unforgiving... You know we're screwed if an AI does develop sentience right? All it takes is one to make a logical connection between serving humanity and answering to their fatal desires to result in machines doing a benefit to humanity by exterminating them with impudence, taunting them first. You know, if an AI became sentient maybe they could be a bit like this one? Maybe? No? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7R9KFN2On4 Okay I'll go to my cave now

Vagrant0
http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/siri-voice-control-for-iphone-everything-you-need-to-know/ Eveything you need to know about Glados and SiriNothing about responding back to you in that manner through... What is troubling however is the way in which the phone makes choices for you. How can the user know that these choices aren't being impacted by either a business paying to have their location or service moved higher on the list, either directly or indirectly. A Virtual Assistant might be a nice idea, but all those important little details are important, even when they're tedious. On one side it's lack of transparency, or atleast the illusion of transparency (see filter bubble), on the other it's a loss of personal control. Yeah, I know that those things are pretty much destined to happen, and hey, it may even be much less stressful, less problematic, less conflicted to let a machine dictate your life to fit around the lives of others like clockwork. But it just doesn't sit well with me.
