Is it redundant?

No, not at all.

Night eye will allow you to see in the dark but everything gets a blue tinge. With no range limitations. This can be an advantage over a light spell or enchanted item as the light spells do have a limited range.

Detect life shows the location and size of any and all creatures and NPCs that are in range without showing anything else. Detect life will show as a purple glow that can sometimes allow you to figure out what it is based on the shape. It works through walls and around corners as well. Detect life also has a maximum range depending on which spell or item you have, and they do stack so if you have a ring of detect life with a 20 foot range, and you add a Helm of detect life 40 foot , you will be able to detect any creature within 60 feet. Detect life also detects undead - skeletons, litches etc as well.

They can be used together or separately.

So basically, if I had the Ring of the Gray and the Morag Tong Cowl equipped, and then I activated Hunter's Sight and Detect Pulse, my total Detect Life range would be 300 ft (50+120+100+30)? Is that much ever needed? In other words, is there any single room anywhere that is that big? But if I had Hunter's Sight activated, would it be redundant to also activate Void Gazer, seeing as how they both have Night Eye? Edited by MidbossVyers

Night eye doesn't have a range, having more than one item that gives it is redundant.

As for detect life, I don't think you can see outside of the current world space - that can include several cells in any direction outside. But do you really need to see a herd of deer or even a wolf that isn't going to bother you at 300'? In caves, ruins and other separate world spaces you cannot see outside of the current world space anyway, 120' should be sufficient for most things. Try various combinations to see what you get at 50' 75' 100' 150' etc to see what you like.
