malevolentraven
I hate stating the obvious... but if you disliked chameleon and invisiblity so much, it's really, really, really easy to not use it :...and that's the correct response. If you don't like something, don't do it. It's unfortunate when people unthinkingly say "I don't like something so nobody else should be able to use it/ do it either." My response is usually "My, how generous of you to be so kind as to instruct me on how I should (insert activity that previous person finds offensive)." I hope they stay in the game merely to give people the option to use it. I think more options are better than less. I'm a "Liberty is better than equality" kind of guy. Could it use some tweaks? Maybe. Then again, it's a single player game so there's no harm in using or not using something built into the game. If someone finds a way to use an in-game item to give them an advantage... where's the problem with that, exactly? That's half the point of having a sandbox game; doing things your way. Here's the fun part; even if they do change it to the way you want, or remove it entirely, those of us who will be playing in the PC will undoubtedly have the old chameleon/ invisibility back via mods. So I'm not really worried if they do remove it. It'll be back. Eventually. It's pretty much like building a character around an exploit, which shouts "I do not want a challange" ... Hmm. Let's take this to the logical extreme; in order to have a maximum challenge (for whatever reason), one shouldn't do anything that will improve their character or make their game easier. Also read; anything that makes the game easier is an "exploit" and is removing the challenge. Thus; no improved weapons (iron only). No advanced spells. No potions. No partners. No magic at all. No armor past the first tier of armor (iron and fur). One could even argue that gaining levels falls under this "exploit" header. See where I'm going? Sure it's silly, but where do you draw the line of what is a challenge and what is not? Why is avoiding a challenge (in a game) somehow shameful? That was all very well spelled out and exactly how I feel about it. I don't understand why people complain about these sorts of things in a game that is Single Player. It's like they expect everyone else to play the game EXACTLY as they do, or you are a; noob, cheater, loser etc. etc.
SansSword
To the detractors of using anything to their advantage in a single-player offline game: Don't ever play online.Because other people won't do what you want them to do. Oh, and grow up. You play the game your way, I play it my way. 100% chameleon was left in Oblivion deliberately.End of discussion.
Katt7777
I think its great that you are able to mod the game according to your tastes in most cases. I understand that what challenges or frustrates one person, might be child's play to another. Modding can also make things easier for those without the time, patience, or inclination. hejpadig
I loved the invisibility rings, even though they were like 5%, you still became invisible. I felt like Bilbo Baggins my first time around.
