Oblivion crashes after exiting sewers.

Every time I try to exit the sewers, Oblivion crashes on me the second the Loading screen finishes. No error message, just that irritating "Windows is looking for a solution" box.

I was wondering if anybody could possibly provide me with a solution. Below I've attached my load order, specs and OBSE plugins. I hope this is enough.

Extra Info:

I'm using the latest official patches

I am definitely running it with OBSE, everything works perfectly within the sewers.

No I haven't tried installing the mods one by one, I know nooby mistake, but I was hoping that I could just get it to work. If there are no solutions, I'll do it one by one until I find the culprit.

This is the second time this has happened. I had more mods the first time and eventually I could get out of the sewers but my game crashed within 5 minutes of playing. I reinstalled everything and I'm back to square one.

Have you tweaked your distance settings or fog settings in Oblivion.ini? That's one possible cause.

Also, you could have a large number of missing meshes. Natural Environments, UL, Frans and MMM would be most likely to cause this, though it could be other plugins. I'd probably start with turning off all of FCOM, then UL, and then NE. If none of those make your game work, keep turning off mods in chunks until you are able to narrow it down.

A couple of unrelated notes:

You did not install the Unofficial Official Mods patch, this patches Knight and any other DLC besides SI. Only install the components for the DLC you have.

You're running the Vampire Face fix. If you have the UOP Supplementals installed then you shouldn't be running the face fix, and if you don't have the supplementals installed then get them, they're a continuation of the unofficial patches as the original authors of the unofficial patches quit modding for Oblivion years ago.

I highly doubt you need OSR on your 6950. Is it unlocked by the way? That could also potentially cause this kind of crash.

Snip

I did set the graphics to absolute bare minimum to see if that would resolve my issue but it didn't, so I reverted back to defaults. I believe this narrows out graphical stress. I did it in-game though, not through the .ini if that makes any difference.

I did try disabling all of the mods you recommended except Frans and none of them solved my issue. However, after disabling Frans New Creatures Add-On I am able to exit the sewers. I tested this three times to make sure and I'm pretty sure that was the issue. I didn't play for long outside of the sewers so I'll have to check that out before I get too excited. Thank you very much for the suggestion and your help.

A response to some unrelated notes:

Alrighty, thank you for that, I'll download it. I didn't even consider Knights of the Nine. =)

Will do!

No, my 6950 is not unlocked, I am not very hardware competent and I don't have the money to replace my hardware if anything went wrong so I decided to keep it as is. Is it advisable to remove OSR, or can I just leave it there for a bit of extra benefit?

Again, thank you! Hopefully this has been resolved, but I'll still apply those fixes you recommended.

On your rig OSR could potentially slow down your overall FPS. Try running around in high and low graphically stressing areas with FRAPS on and get a good idea of how it's affecting your system. I'd suggest IC Market, just across the short bridge on the way to Castle Skingrad (for some reason that turn at the bottom of the hill is where I see the lowest FPS in-game) and somewhere out in the woods west or east of IC. OSR was really designed to help out people running NVidia 6xxx and 7xxx series cards (and maybe mid-range 8xxx). A 9600 GTS or better shouldn't really need OSR. Edited by MShoap13
