Question about mods and console commands

Greetings!

I am hoping someone can help me out here. I know how to use the console to obtain more of a certain item, for example, player.additem 0000000f 1000 to add 1000 more gold pieces to my character. But how can I use the console to gain more of an item that comes from a mod that someone has created? I have looked up the item ID's in the construction set, but they don't seem to work for the player created mods. Is there something special that I have to do?

I would appreciate any tips that y'all could give me.

go into the esp file and search for the ID of the item, it should give that information to you

Not exactly, while you do need the form ID of the item to create it, you will also need the specific address (dictated by the load order) so that it loads that form from that specific mod. There are already atleast a half-dozen similar threads around here which describe the process. Use search, or just go back a few pages of topics.

Long story short, unless the item is quest related, it's usually easier to just open the mod and place the items you want within a cell near your save.

The problem with spawning mod items in console is that if you enter in the wrong numbers, you can really screw up your game, and you really can't get the right numbers without having some static created by that mod to get the exact address. Just counting load orders can be unreliable.

You've got the wrong key, it is the ~ key, called the tilda, it is above the tab on keyboards.

Actually, that is the right key: it has both ` and ~ on it. The tilda is Shift-`.

One possibility (although rather unlikely) is that the console has been disabled in the oblivion.ini. Go to C:\...\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion and open oblivion.ini. Search for bAllowConsole. If it is set to 0, change it to 1.

Thank you!

I went to the oblivion.ini and found it. It was set to 1, so I doubt it's the problem. Also, I am pressing ~, just didn't shift. Still won't open.

However, I press the key and nothing happens in the game. Does that mean that I need to be in a certin interface, or do I need to minimize the game?

Unplugging the remote worked! I never use it anyway, so thank you so much herosinger.

If anyone else is interested in solving my plights, when I use player made items it shows that part of my characters body invisable. If I was using items made for stats, that woulden't bug me, but that makes a lotta the sexy armor mods I have usuless. :(

I've read the readme's and nothing seems to help. Anything I should be downloading or doing first?
